Deep Hurting is an MST3K named term for any long, drawn out, repetitive scene in a film that serves as nothing but filler.

In Lost Continent, it was Rock Climbing, in Hercules Against the Moon Men, it was Sandstorm.

And in Star Wars Episode 1, it was Pod Racing.

In Matrix Reloaded, it was Fights Between Unkillable Supermen.

What are some other examples of Deep Hurting in film?

The never ending and tireless "impossible for humans to performing swinging from ropes, flying through the air and gymnastics" in Van Helsing.

Don't forget the scenes with Kong and the woman (forget her name) cavorting through New York.

I'll be back with my own ideas soon.

Dim of the Yard

Any scene in Troll 2 featuring Elliot's friends I would quickly consider to be Deep Hurting.  I mean, come on, all they were there for was racking up the body count.

Thinking about it: In Bollywood, most films are musicals, and the musical numbers themselves are not nessesarily plot advancing or even relevant.
As an American, I have to lump Bollywood Musical Numbers into the Deep Hurting category.

Tyrant

There's the classic endless Enterprise floating through Vger scene in the first Star Trek movie.

The ONLY part of Pulp Fiction I did not care for........

The useless scene of Bruce Willis and his girlfriend discussing their stomachs.

Yeah, I loved Pulp Fiction, but almost all the scenes with Bruce Willis and his wife bored me to tears.
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

I thought you were going for a Homer Simpson DOH moment   :D

Chaos

Waterworld, Kevin Costner swimming to the bottom of the ocean.
Mortal Kombat, everything that didn't involve 2 characters actively punching each other.
Family Guy, every time Peter hits his knee (not a movie, I know, but still).
XxX, all the scenes of "Vin" doing Xtreme stunts.

All qualify as deep hurting.

I think about half of the scenes in Carpenter's Halloween would count. Just rewatched that Rifftrax the other day. Hilarious, but you could tell even Mike and Kevin were running out of ways to mock the endless scenes by the end.

Matrix 3 when Keanu's wifey bites it.  Actually, now that I think about it, I vaguely recall us yelling at the movie screen, I'm surprised we didn't get the boot.
