Let's see if we can summon one of Rhodes' other personalities.  One that is less boring.  Everyone!  Gather around my oujia board.

Are you saying my complaint is completely illegitimate? If you're going to say so, you might want to try and discuss it instead of just drawing attention away from the subject at hand.

Alright, I'll play along.... Ohhh, Ohhh I'm sensing that Bettertomorrowamy and Isaac are the same person... I'm also getting something about Tripe... and a hound... and a replay... or perhaps... a redux?! Don't worry, I wont tell anyone though. Look, I am trying my best to have a rational discussion here, I see no need to go in another conversational direction unless you are admitting I am right. ;)

Let's just try to have a discussion here mmkay? What do you think of Death-Proof Betttertomorrowamy? I want to know if you agree or disagree with my opinion and why or why not.

Chaos

Ok, well, Planet Terror was okay (certainly a hell of a lot better than Death Proof), but I found it unnecessarily gorey... gore for the sake of gore, as I have said on more than one occasion, is not really very entertaining.

It was a fun shoot-em-up switched-off movie, but certainly not the best of its kind even in that regard.

I really don't understand the hype.

I appreciate your point of view Chaos. I was already planning on returning Planet Terror anyway. Oh Well...*sighs*

Planet Terror and Death Proof were both fantastic. I guess you really have to be into '70s exploitation films to enjoy them.

I know I am in no position to judge Planet Terror, but more than half of Death Proof was spent watching eight women talk about sex and drugs. I may not know everything about movies, but I don't understand how talk that doesn't really further the story or character development makes it anymore interesting or entertaining.

For reasons that escape me, some people seem to be really into this whole idiotic "sexual intrigue" kind of thing.

If I want to be sexually intrigued, I'll spend time with my wife, or watch a porno. Sitting through an hour and a half of idiotic, whiney, uninspired dialogue waiting for something INTERESTING to happen is not my idea of a good night out at the theater. If I want to be bored in a theater, I'll be bored to opera. At least THEN I can say I was bored by culture. :P

Naw dude I saw Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill but I don't recall anyone sitting around talking about sex and drugs for a full 20 minutes without anything happening.

O.K. Rhodes here is the first post about Grindhouse I made.  Hope this helps.
I liked Death Proof a lot better than Planet Terror also.

Deathproof was pretty boring from what I saw of it. I fell asleep after they where talking to the Icey hot ad man.

That's the beginning of the movie.

I finally got a copy from Netflix, and it was FUCKING awesome.

Well to be fair, in Pulp Fiction there is a scene where Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta talk about hamburgers, which has really nothing to do with the plot but is extremely funny. Personally, I liked all the talking in Death Proof, it was a nice contrast to all the explosions in Planet Terror. When I saw Grindhouse in the theater, I actually liked Planet Terror a lot better because everyone in the audience was getting into, while Death Proof just seemed kind of boring in comparison. But when I watched the movies on dvd, I kind of liked Death Proof more because I was anticipating all the jokes in Planet Terror, which sort of ruined it for me.
