Wow....  Haven't really expected any of these choices yet....  and I think Simon Pegg is at least going to take some getting used to for Scotty...

Wait, so one bad comedy actor and one good comedy actor already in the cast?
Not sure how to feel about that, frankly.

Detective Chimp

Wait. Chekov is being played by an authentic Russian? This will not stand! I like my Russian accents fake and my Scotsmen Canadian!

I Think they should've kept moving forward after Voyager, or maybe filled in some gaps with Enterprise B & C  :grr:

I dunno..
Maybe they'll cross a few lines to make me Want to go see it..

If I had my way I would have them cast chef Gordon Ramsey as the Cpt. and have him running around calling everyone donkeys.

Let's lobby them for that, excellent I love the angry little Scottish Stratfordian (he went to school with my sister you know, I didn't until I read a profile of him in the New Yorker)

hahaha, that was great.

I really don't know how to feel about the castings of Sulu and Scotty.

Sure I love Pegg, very funny....but are they going for a real light hearted version of Trek? I think and I hope most would agree, the best Trek movie of all time was a dead serious movie with sporadic humour. I just am interested in knowing what the tone of the movie is going to be. Also i bet Pegg is relugated to what he did in MI3 very small amount of screen time.

I still don't get when this is actually meant to be set, is this on the enterprise before the TV series?
