75 people. Can you imagine? Steve-O and I would have to defend our precious keg wielding 2x4s with nails in them.

Andy and I will byob.  Or, byok.  Not that we're lushes or anything...

I wonder, is a keg acceptable carry-on luggage? Cause that would make the flight much smoother.

QuoteHow will we know each other? Just by making lots of introductions? What if I don't want to meet Steve-O? ;)

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure Steve-O only rapes guys. And certain animals. So keep an eye on Andy, but you should be safe.

By the way, I'm planning on making name badges for the meet-up.  I'll be making a nice design in Photoshop within the next couple of months.  When I'm happy with it I'll post the design here to see if everyone approves of it.
Imrahil: Don't care about Riding with Death.

Bob: Turkey.

Action Batch:  Woah, let's all mellow out and rap about this.

Will we write our handles in Sharpie, or will they be pre-printed?

I'm planning on them being pre-printed.  I think they'd look better that way.  Still, I can print out a few blank ones if you'd rather write your name in with a Sharpie.   :)

We gonna look snazzy. Like some twisted business convention where the team-building exercises have been replaced by tasteless jokes.

"I just wanna give a shout out to Jan in Marketing - thanks for all the bagels you saved me in the break room - haa.. oh we have fun..."

It'll be much more fun than that :)  Or it could be super awkward:

"Hi, I'm Veronica"

"..."
"Oh, right, I mean Hebs."
"... are you on the boards?"
"Yeah! I love it there... you?"
"Yep... I like it, too...."
".... *staring*....."
"..."
"Well, see ya!"

Wow, you just had a Maria Bamford moment there.  :D

If any uncomfortableness breaks out, I promise to say something completely inappropriate to break the tension. In fact, I just might do it anyway.

Hey!  Now, that's uncalled for.  I am many things, but one thing I am definitely not is a sexist.

That said, I wouldn't want to meet me either.  Maybe I'll send a proxy Steve-O.

You should build a really shoddy robot version of yourself and send it over. With Gary Coleman's face printed on cheap paper and taped to its head. Just record yourself saying random things so the robot can play them over and over again. The presence of your robot self will completely elminate any chances of awkward conversaton amongst the forum members. Especially the drunk ones.

Dim of the Yard

Hey, if Steve-O gets to send a robot with a Gary Coleman face, then if I go, I want to be able to dress up like Ash from Evil Dead and cart around a toy chainsaw and a toy boomstick.

Tyrant

If Dim gets to be Ash, then I should be able to dress up like a zombie.

So we've got Robot Steve-O, Ash, and a zombie so far.

Sideswipe

Well now what am I supposed to do if Steve O is a robot?

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

The more I think about it, the more I like this idea.  It will take off the pressure to live up to my online presence.  For some reason, I don't think Sharktopus will be satisfied unless I show up pantsless with half a chipmunk hanging out of my ass.

I'm no good with robots though.  I'll probably just get the real Gary Coleman.  I'm sure he's available for parties and bar mitzvahs.  Just don't ask him what he's talkin' 'bout, or he will punch your knees six ways from Sunday.

You guys don't mind signing this release form I had my lawyers whip up, do you?  It's no big deal or antyhing.  It just states that I am not fiscally responsible for any braces, prosthetic devices, pain relieving creams, and/or knee replacement surgeries required as a result of asking non-robot proxy Steve-O Gary Coleman what he's talkin' 'bout.  Boilerplate stuff, really.

I don't know... Coleman Vs. A Robot?
I've seen this match-up already on TV and it wasn't fun:
