First of all I don't condone people posting their reauthors of RiffTrax movies on file-sharing networks.  I don't post and I don't download them.
But just for giggles I did a search on piratebay.org for RiffTrax.  Battlefield Earth with the RiffTrax commentary is being shared.  Here is a ringing endorsement from someone who probably hasn't heard of Mystery Science Theater 3000:

DONT DOWNLOAD this extreme rubbish!!
Some wanker found himself so funny he decided to talk trough the whole film with absolutely(!!) no humor in it! (only one audio track)
You cant here what they are saying the film is ruined

At the very least, Mike can make complete sentences with proper grammar and spelling.   I think I'd take even an unfunny Mike over this douche bag.

My "sence" of humor is "in-tack," I assure you :)
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

I never thought I would see the words "kinda good" movie used when referring to Battlefield Earth.  Thank you, Pirate Bay, for making the impossible, possible.  Now please seed Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter!

I'm blown away that the guy didn't like the commentary at all. But, then again, anyone downloading that turd of a movie can't have the best taste in movies at all. And who's the jackass seeding a Rifftrax movie reauthor, anyway?

Bob

Are we actually shocked that some schmuck stealing movies has poor grammar and cannot spell and has the mind of an eleven year old?

mrbasehart

He couldn't have listened very hard: All three of the team riff on Battlefield Earth.

You mean he isn't?

Well, there goes my day...

I thought Borat was Ali G . . . or was it Ali G was Borat? Either way, anyone who can confuse Sascha Baron Cohen with Mike Nelson deserves all the scorn in the world.

Yea, that's the funniest part... unfortunate internet grammar and spelling aside... is that somebody is fighting the good fight to defend Battlefield Freaking Earth against besmirchment.

I can accept the whole "different strokes for different folks" angle. I have buddy who can be a little dry and obtuse with his sense of humor. He's a tough crowd... and only had a passing familiarity with MST from it's broadcast run when I would rope him into watching one. We watched "Casino Royale" a few weeks back... and he took me back when he came right out and said... "When did these guys become such smug assholes?"...  A few minutes later he said he actually did enjoy lines here and there... but it wasn't really his thing. So I'll give this clown at least a minor break.... sorta... well maybe not... I guess laughable overreaction is never warranted.

I'm not sure if the guy actually liked Battlefield Earth. In fact, he probably hasn't even seen it before and that's why he's so pissed off. I think he believed that he was downloading the movie itself, and was surprised to get a Rifftrax version. From the sound of it, it wasn't even a very good reauthor... which could make the whole experience a pretty bad one.

I still think it's funny that he even wanted to download Battlefield Earth in the first place, though. And then it's even better that he probably spent a long, long time downloading it only to get the Rifftrax version!

Well, if Rifftrax kept one person from seeing the original version of BFE, then I suppose some good did come out of it.

I'm sure most of us thought that was at least somewhat possible, but this I doubt anyone expected:

He's kind of cute.

I was an English minor and it makes my head hurt.

I minored in English too, just a couple more classes and I would've had a double major. Typos don't really bug me all that much, just certain forms of net speak bs
