To all them darn disembAudio bashers.. here's how I've imagined the toaster's response to your anti-toaster's-riff-ism:

I liked DisembAudio's contributions to the Fifth Element commentary. It reminded me of the interaction between Mike and the 'bots on MST3K.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

I don't generally dislike Disembaudio's riffing. I usually love to hear a unique voice coming through. The problem with Fifth Element was not that there was too much Disembaudio, it was that the side-coversation about car thieves was distracting from the movie while we could see a lot of riffable material passing by.

I would actually like to see a lot MORE disembaudio. I'd like to see him riffing on the scale that Bill or Kevin would. I just want it to be a part of the riffing process, rather than a departure from it. Disembaudio's riffs in the last few movies have been awesome. THAT'S what I want Disembaudio to do, but it's distressing that he's only getting one quicky-line per Rifftrax. I want to see him throwing out several Zingers throughout the movie. I want him to be a part of the Riff Crew. What do you all think? :^)

Disembaudio is okay. I agree that it could have been toned down a little during Fifth Element.

They just need to keep giving Disembaudio the one line zingers. "That's what she said!"

I'm sure that Disembaudio will have less of a roll in the Rifftrax that include a guest riffer (if ST:V and X-Men are any sort of indicators)

Hank

I'd rather not have Disembaudio in the riffs in any way, shape or form. Personally, I don't need it for syncing, so I edit it out completely so it doesn't distract from the enjoyment of the riffs.

Mike definitely is better when he's not alone, but given the choice, I'd rather he was flying solo than with Disembaudio.

I'll be really depressed if I find out that Disembaudio is Joel with a vocoder or something.

Actually what I surmised after listening to the Fifth Element commentary... more times in this brief spanse than I care to admit even to other geekfreaks, is that the points where DA & Mike start having a conversation are points where Mike really didn't have anything worthy to chime in with. Had they not done something in that section, there would have been dead air for a minute or two, because Mike had nothing he felt worth contributing.

I think that's accurate. The little bits with DA are usually in places where something dull and unriffable is going on on the screen. It's a of bridging those scenes.

Sampo (and, hey, DA, I think you and Magic Voice would really hit it off. Maybe Mike could fix you up!)

Can't we all just Riff along?

I mean, seriously folks, the more Riffs the merrier!

Rock on DA, rock on!

I think that the fan community has warmed to DA since his first apearance.  He's a welcome addition to the grand tradition.

I dig Disembaudio, especially when Mike is alone. There is a perfect example around the last half hour of Cocktail. It kind of losses steam and it was quiet, then just at the second I thought it was about to get boring they had Disembaudio say a perfect one-liner.

I wish they would give him more than he does, but not throughout the entire time.

Well since "the bomb" in 5th Element he's been improving. I dont think it just the fans who are warming up to him, but I think the rifftrax crew have been slowly finding DA's "place" with the riffing; its been mutual.

Its kinda like a carousel...it goes round and round, up and down...circular.

Disembaudio should only do voice syncing! His stuff is slightly childish, Maybe if he would swear every so often then it would be better... but 'as is' its like watching a film with a 12 year old kid that thinks he's funny.

I loved Disembaudio in Road House.  I think it was perfect and helped what would have otherwise been a strange situation.  Mike riffing those scenes by himself would have been a bit odd, as would Mike just staying silent and not saying anything (Is he enjoying the scenes too much to talk? Did he go get to a coke? Do I even want to know?).  Either way, I think I would have been disturbed.

Haven't seen Fifth Element with the rifftrax because that would involve me renting Fifth Element and I haven't gotten to it.

What I can't stand, and I know it's necessary, is Disembaudio's synching.  That does jar me.  I wish he would do it less often.  You can kind of tell if you're off synch by the comments anyway.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

I haven't gotten around to seeing roadhouse yet (because that would involve me actually renting it  ;)) but yeah I totally agree with you Amanda about both of your points. commentary track with one person ='s awkward silence. And most of us don't really need "perfect sync technology" to line up a movie with a soundtrack(Pink Floyd anyone??) .

My opinion, less dissemble audio ... just my opinion, i respect others that seem to be okay with him too
(maybe people just feel bad about expressing their opinions because the dissemble audio guy regularly posts on these boards?)
Also, I think he should be brave enough to at least give us a real name, or at least a name that I can relate to
