Quote9. Superman IV > How can anyone take a Superman movie seriously with Richard Pryor as the co-star and Atari 800 graphics?

I think that's Superman 3

That's what makes it even WORSE!

Top 10 Possible Riffs:

10). 8-Legged Freaks - No explanation needed. The work is almost done for the riffers already.

9). Brothers Grimm - Gilliam is great, but he must've been drunk or something when he made this one.

8). Starship Troopers - Come on! Giant bugs? Laser tattoos? Psychics? Perfect.

7). Jurassic Park 2 - One of those unfortunate instances where you'd have to watch the movie again. Worth it, though.

6). Independence Day - A world with Bill Pullman as President and Will Smith/Jeff Goldblum as heroes does not deserve to go unriffed.

5). Beastmaster - Dr. Dolittle strung-out on steroids and sexual confusion. Plus, it has Rip Torn!

4). Suburban Commando or Mr.Nanny -  Hulk Hogan the movie star? Well... What can you say that hasn't been already thought?

3). Super Mario Bros. - Generally speaking, video game to motion picture is not a good idea.

2).Masters of the Universe - How is it that I have seen this movie as many times as I have? A mystery I will have to live with. I'd like the next time to be a much funnier experience, though.

1). Tremors - I am surprised this movie has not been mentioned more often. Any sequel would be a good choice, but the first one has Reba...... Reba McEntire. Yup.

very good suggestions lapager1, I haven't seen Beastmaster or Masters of the Universe, but every other suggestion is spot on. Welcome to the boards!

lapager1

Thanks. I'd like to say those movies are recommended, but.....I don't know how to finish this sentence.

The 1966 Batman was made with tongue planted firmly in cheek. It doesn't take itself seriously for an instant, and is thus a poor candidate for Riffing.

Independence Day need a riffing released on July 4th

In no paricular order... and varying from "not all that terrible" to "oh please make the hurting stop!".   I just want to see what could be done with these.

Escape From NY
Escape From LA
Soldier
The Mummy Returns
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the older movies, not the new one)
Con Air
Murder At 1600
Tango & Cash
V (either the Mini-Series or The Final Battle)
Rules Of Engagement

10.  Monster Squad -  Classic hollywood monsters face off against their most challenging foes ever, junior high school kids.
  9.   Freejack  - Emilio Estevez, Mic Jagger, and Anthony Hopkins together for the first time, and hopefully for the last time.
  8.   Soldier  -  Kurt "the computer wore tennis shoes" Russel is a super soldier who goes Rambo on some other super soldiers who are so well trained they walk in single file and don't even need to use battle tactics,  and it all takes place in the future on a garbage planet.
  7.    Alien Ressurection - aliens using their projectile teeth to press buttons even though they have hands with fingers, Sigourney Weaver making out with an alien,  the pokemon like variety of aliens to choose from(some spit, some swim, some dance the cha cha) Wynona Ryder and the the worst band of pirates to ever walk the space plank.
  6.    Big Trouble in Little China -  I do love this movie, but what couldn't be made fun of in it?
  5.    Superman Returns - For a movie about  Superman, he has the smallest part in the film.  And what is Lex's obession with land developement?  And why did we need to add a kid to the mix?  Apparently  Superman wasn't Super enough to be the focus of his own movie.
  4.    Bloodrayne -  its' just begging to be riffed.  Ben Kingsley was obviously paid not only by the word, but for every single movement aswell it seems.  And Michael Madsen was doing his best Shatner impression it seemed.  It was a movie based on a video game and it showed, it even had boss fights for crying out loud.
  3.    Ghostrider - Nicholas Cage as a comic book hero, need i say more?
  2.     X-Men 3 -  From Storms super spinning combat move, to the villians throwing a guy off a roof just so his son who can fly in and save him thus proving to his father that mutant powers are a good thing,   nothing can save this movie from it's own lack of plot.
   1.    Tomb Raider 1 or 2 -  They're really just the same movie,  neither has a coherent plot, or anything that anyone with some level of self respect could call a script.

I second X3 and Monster Squad, which I haven't seen in a while, but which has also been recently released on DVD. X3 was just disappointing. Fun, but disappointing.

I also just remembered The Haunting. I wish I hadnt.
