I won't get into the details, but I went and embarrassed myself in front of someone I respected.  It's one of the worst feelings in the world.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

If they respect you as much as you respect them, I don't think it'll be a problem.

I had some Mylar balloons randomly floating around since my birthday last month.  Mylar balloons hold their helium so long that I just wanted to watch this.  Well, the ribbon from one of them got tangled in one of my pedestal fans and did something to the motor, so now it won't turn on.  At least it's only like $26 for a new one.

I wish NBC would just stop ending their promos for the fall season by saying "Set Your DVRs". Everyone knows DVRs can only be set on the channel guide, which only goes up to a week and a half from now. There is no way to set your DVR for shows that will not air until mid September or later. Even if I  had some sort of advanced DVR that could be set without a channel guide, those promos  don't even give a date or time for the shows they want us to set the DVR to. And they have been asking us to set our DVRs to their new shows since early July, and I am getting sick of it! It can't be done you idiots!

Trying to get weight loss surgery.  I have health insurance through my work, but they didn't purchase the bariatric surgery rider on it, so it's not covered.  Now I'm shopping around, thinking maybe I can get my own policy once open enrollment comes up in November.  Policy wouldn't kick in until January though.  Hope this turns out to be a viable solution.

Barnes & Noble now charges admission to use their bathrooms! Either a purchase of an item more than $10, or $5 for the code that will allow you to unlock the door. WTF? Are they trying to drive away customers? That toilet is one of the only reasons a lot of people still come in here, and window shop while here, buying something that catches their attention.  Now those customers are gone. Oh well. Guess I will just have to piss on the sidestreet wall of the store like everyone else will be doing.

I was doing some DoorDash deliveries like I usually do on Fridays.  I got trapped in a parking lot at the local mall for 2 hours trying to do a pickup from The Cheesecake Factory and I almost ran out of gas.  Eventually, the customer cancelled the order, which is good because it meant I got paid AND I got to keep the food.  Though I was still trapped.  Luckily there is a movie theater in the mall area so I found a parking spot and went to see Gladiator 2 while waiting for the traffic to thin out.  Was much better after I left and I was able to get gas in time.

Rear ended on the interstate.  Good thing traffic was heavy and we were both slowing down.  Other guy will definitely be found at fault so I guess his insurance will reimburse me for the deductible, like last time this happened.

He was driving some sort of big cargo van, registered to a business, so I guess he was working.  I hope the guy doesn't get fired over this.

Got seriously depressed over an incident today where I was deferred for an important medical procedure for my temperature being... TOO LOW. Okay... so re-take my vitals! you know, like you always have before!!

I got so depressed about this situation that I had to check myself into the psych ward at the hospital for treatment.

I'm so sorry Cyrusso.  I hope things smooth out for your life, and the medical procedure can take place soon.

I agree with this OP and the thread title.

Let's just put a fork in it and call it done.

Throw it on the stoop and see if the cat licks it up.

No more patience whatsoever for whatever tyranny at *most* one or two people hold hostage entire "communities."

Think "Nextdoor....dot com!" and then imagine it were a place with some actual people.

No.

Not worth any effort pandering to the "tastes" of a few simpering children who are prone to tantrums and "throwing flags" like that fucker Travis Kelce justifiably deserves and earns.

Bunch of weens.

Generalizing?  Yes, in life as well.  Bunch of weens.  Everywhere I look, mostly, it seems.  It's a broken culture and I will have no part of it any longer.

It's actually shocking to me that, as I reported much earlier today at that blighted corporate "forum," one encounters a few people IRL who don't disappoint.

Screw it.

Hell with it.

RRRRRAAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Fuck 'em.  Those assclowns can burn their own franchise down to the ground....all the way down.  There is no excuse for such pathetic weenerie.  In life nor in art.

At least RT still exists, and The Mads Are Back, and Mary Jo+Chris G.

That one or two simpering little Joe Besser(s) haven't managed to destroy these vibrant and valuable art forms.

I am , thank you Lucas!!! About two weeks ago I actually had an upper respiratory infection so I had to go to the emergency room on the weekend to get that taken care of but surprisingly they had me in and out of there in less than three hours. I got lucky as fuck😳

Remember when TV Guide was in almost every store? Every stationary store, every grocery store and bodega, every pharmacy, every record store and book store? Every block on a commercial strip had at least one store that sold TV Guide. It was impossible not to find one if you wanted to buy one. Well, for the past fifteen years buying the Fall Preview of TV Guide has been nearly impossible. A lot of stores stopped selling magazines. Hudson News took over every news stand in the city, and they began stocking every other issue, which usually meant they skipped the Fall Preview issue. Then Hudson News stopped stocking the bi-weekly television listing magazine, and instead only stocked the special issues ( The current special issue is "Star Trek" with reprints of all their Star Trek articles. ) Same thing with Stop and Shop. Special edition issues only. Every year had me hunting around for a store that still sold TV Guide. Whenever I found a store that did, the next year that store was either out of business, or replaced their magazine racks with vape pen racks. Two years ago I thought I had found the perfect store to buy the Fall Preview at. A Barnes & Noble in mid-town Manhattan. But I also memorized the eight other stores left in the city that still specialized in magazines, just in case Barnes & Noble sold out.

TV Guide never made it easy. They never announced the new issue was out on their website until nearly a week after it was out. This year it's newsstand date was September 1st, despite the previous issue having a date that ran to September 9th. So I wasn't at Barnes & Noble until the 5th. They were sold out, but I knew that they kept reserve copies in the back which they used to restock every few days. So I went to the Magazine Cafe, and they didn't have any. After asking, I was told that a woman had shown up on September 1st and bough all 40 copies. Another magazine specialty store in  the meat packing district was also out. All 40 copies sold to... a woman who showed up early in the morning of September 1st asking to buy every copy before they even had a chance to put it on the shelves. Icon Magazines in Little Italy had the same story. A woman showed up on the 1st and bought all 50 copies. Every store I went to was sold out, and when I asked, had the same story of a woman showing up on the 1st and buying every copy. I went back to the midtown Barnes & Noble tom ask when they would be restocking the magazine, and after asking around, the manager found out that one of the employees had sold a woman every copy they had, about 100, the day they were supposed to put them on the shelves.  F*&k! Resellers!

Basically whenever their is a high demand and hard to find item, they attempt to buy every copy. It could be sneakers, video games, Labubus, anything they can both buy every copy of then resell on eBay for four times the price. This particular reseller hit every magazine store in Manhattan, and bought at least 250 copies. It isn't as if she thinks she can sell all 150 copies, but that if it is impossible to find, then she can probably sell at least 100 of them and earn twice what it cost her to buy them. So I spent the past two weeks trying to find a store that still sold TV Guide. I searched every smoke shop, stationary store, and supermarket. I have been into maybe every CVS and Rite Aid/Walgreens in the city. Google says they sell magazines. Only two of them did, but didn't have the Fall Preview. You know how you find out if a drug store sells magazines? You have to walk through every single aisle, which can take about five minutes. Same thing with Target. You have to walk through the entire store to find out if they are one of the locations that sells magazines. A whole week of searching and finding nothing. So now I have to pay one of the f*&king eBay resellers $20, pus the $5 shipping, plus a tax I would not have needed to pay at the newsstand.
