Cool use of miniatures for a street artist to turn a damaged pylon into a 'major' battle.

So it's official! Netflix's Marvel Shows (and also Agents of SHIELD) are making the jump to Disney Plus!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/netflix-s-marvel-series-including-luke-cage-and-jessica-jones-officially-jumping-to-disney-along-with-agents-of-shield/ar-AAUtnJ

This means we have TV-MA content on Disney Plus, which means they'll implement some age controls, which ALSO opens the door for Deadpool and a few other Marvel Oddities.

It also happened very quickly after a certain indication that the Netflix stuff is still considered cannon.

Huh. It looks like they went with a sort of energy field manipulation instead of actual stretchy-powers. I get it. It's hard to make stretchy people look good. I guess I hoped they'd figured it out. Looks like they nailed the character, though. Should be fun.

I think it's more so they keep superheroes with overlapping powers to a minimum (ie if they plan on bringing in Reed Richards for a Fantastic 4 movie)

A very brief thing from the Hawkeye series that I noticed:

Nice subtle thing in the final episode: Yalena's hair style mimics the above-water-visible part of a Portugese Man-of-War (the most dangerous jellyfish).  This subtle visual cue says that she is NOT there to reason.

Watching Endgame again.  There's something I noticed and thought about with a scene in it before, but where last night a thought popped into my head that resulted in me just starting laughing.

So: after the interstellar phone conversation, Natasha is finishing making her PB&J before Cap arrives, and she cuts it diagonally.

Well, I put that together with something obscure (and absurd) from Captain Marvel, and wondered:

Did Natasha start cutting her sandwiches diagonally while she was working in the SHIELD offices, because, by doing so, Nick would no longer steal them from her (since he "can't eat toast if it is cut diagonally")?  ;D

And a little something from Eternals.

When the Deviants are attacking in Druig's mind-controlled town, someone says it is a war.

Druig says, "This isn't war - this is genocide!"

Well, that seems very similar to the David Bowie line at the start of the album 'Diamond Dogs':
"This ain't rock and roll - this is genocide!"

To ME that seemed a bit too close to be coincidence (particularly since the intonations appeared similar to me when I noticed it), but it may still be one.

This is extremely good and I hope it was deliberate.

I was watching Eternals last week.  It seems really strange that the Eternals didn't bother to intercede against Thanos.  I know this is explained away as "we were forbidden from interfering unless the Deviants were involved".  But on the other hand, they only killed the Deviants because their presence was threatening human population growth.  The Celestials needed Earth population to hit a certain level in order to initiate The Emergence.  Thanos cutting that in half seems like a pretty damn big threat to the plan.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

Yeah, that is definitely not a good enough excuse.

My friend Chris made a better suggestion:
By the time Thanos arrived and the event happened it was just a few hours, not enough time for them to realize it and get there. And even if they did it was in Wakanda under their protection field, so they probably couldn't have gotten in anyway.

I never liked the idea that the Eternals gave humans technological advancements anyway. Because it takes away from human ingenuity. But Wakanda brings up a whole other issue with that. If they want the world to be technologically advanced to further the species you would think they'd have a problem with one country hoarding advancement far beyond the others.

The Eternals are not well known properties that the public expects to be in the movies, so why put them in if it raises so many unanswerable questions? The only reason is if Marvel has future plotline plans where they are necessary, and I am hard pressed to think of what that would be.

I agree on the "not giving humans tech" thing.  You're absolutely right, it takes away from humanities' creative spark if they were handed key advancements (the wheel, the plow, presumably later the steam engine created way before its time).

I tend to think of the Eternals as being 'good little soldiers' for the most part, Druig being the first to stray from that significantly.  As good little soldiers they didn't significantly disobey the rules until they developed consciences late in the film.

I agree that Thanos snapping away everyone was kind of a bid deal, in that it would bring to a halt the growth of an unknown number of Celestials throughout the universe.  But the thing with that is: the Celestials wouldn't have known that was going on until after the snap (I don't believe they are omniscient), at which point it was too late to tell the Eternals to intercede.  [It is interesting to think about the fact that 1/2 of the gestating Celestials would also have disappeared in the snap.  Wouldn't that have destabilized those planets?  I mean, suddenly there's a huge vacuum in what was molten metal and rock.  If they are so large that they destroy the planet when they hatch, that's a significant void that would have appeared in their place.]

I'm thinking Feige has something in mind for the Celestials (he seems to have things in mind for most of the MCU).  I mean, they popped a dead Celestial head in the first Guardians film and with flashbacks to them alive in the Collector-provided background, so the groundwork was laid for their appearance early.

Personally, I wonder if the now-free-of-Celestial-control Eternals will play a role in the Kang wars coming.  Although, if the intent is for them to be Avengers replacements in the MCU, I don't think they'd get far (with the public, the screenwriters control their effectiveness in the films), since they have never been particularly interesting in the comics, and the film didn't improve on that all that much.

Oh, and I'm a little pissed that Pip wasn't his original purple.  >:(

I don't get why Pip was CGI. And while I love Patton Oswalt he is so great in the M.O.D.O.K. show that I was really hoping he would be in the MCU proper live action as that character at some point.

See that would have worked much better.  Captain Marvel didn't realize what was going on until it was too late.  So they could've said the same thing about the Eternals and it would've been fine.
