That was a good time. The riffs were every bit as good as the MST3K version, the new Rifftones version of the Hobgoblins song was great, and the Medieval Town short was a great warm-up.

Iron Curtain

There were technical difficulties where I watched the riff such that I (as well as everybody in the theater) had experienced the entire short without sound, but it was fixed in time for the main attraction to be riffed audibly without (too much of) a hitch.

Since I've been waiting over a year for this, I guess it's true that abstinence makes the heart grow fonder, seeing as this Riffrax live experience was extra special and extra funny. I liked this riff even more so than the MST3K episode!

There were a few dozen people at our local showing, with only 3 people masked: me, my wife, and one other guy.

It was a fun time, but I have to say that I do prefer the original mst3k riff. I also wish that they would've acknowledged that the actor who plays Road Rash was the pawn shop guy in Pulp Fiction (throw in a "Zed's dead" or "Bring out the gimp" or something).

They didn't appear to have cut much in the mst3k version. The main "new" scenes appeared to be the ones with the grey-bearded Abe Lincoln in a wood panel office guy, although I have a vague recollection that there was another one.

The abrupt ending was a bit weird. It was like they ran out of time and had to bug out before the movie was over, although I think they only skipped the movie's end credits.

Anyone know what happened with the abrupt ending of the movie? Did they just run out of time?

Loved the short and the movie was a solid outing. I'd put it just below the original MST3K version, but my theater actually had two screens devoted to it so it was really full. I laughed out loud multiple times, though none of the lines will be with me the rest of my life. Only missed opportunity for me was not referencing Gymkata at least one when they showed the Medeviel town.

My assumption with the abrupt ending was time constraint. Only had two brief glitches during the feed.

I'm really sorry I missed this. I find Hobgoblins on it's own one of the more enjoyably bad movies they ever did. Is there a Fathom rebroadcast?

Just the one showing this time, although it will be offered as a download once the requisite time has passed.
