This is starting to sound vaguely like the plot for Theodore Rex.

With Jim Carey as Dr. Eggman. It's almost like they're adapting the movie in the very '90s that created Sonic the Hedgehog.

Also, from the IGN article...
QuoteThe most challenging part of Sonic's updated design isn't revealed in this teaser: his eyes. The filmmakers struggled with how best to depict Sonic's eyes because often he's only seen with one, and that wouldn't translate well to the live-action movie.

"I don't think SEGA was entirely happy with the eye decision, but these sorts of things you go, 'It's going to look weird if we don't do this.' But everything is a discussion, and that's kind of the goal, which is to only change what's necessary and stay true to the rest of it," said Miller. "He's not going to feel like a Pixar character would because I don't think that's the right aesthetic to make it feel like part of our world."

I probably shouldn't be worried about character design based on a silhouette, but here we are.

Well, umm...yeah...

No "c" or second "g"?  The producers of the Fast And have a lot to answer for.

*Psst* you can make it smaller!  [Img width=#]

Imagine the meetings of trying to take a character designed to be edgy for kids in the 90s to being edgy now? Poochy is no longer parody, it's toned down.

I really, really don't like the design of Sonic. If I were making a live action sonic movie I'd just film the movie then add in the Sonic from the Genesis games later.

I probably shouldn't be worried about character design based on a silhouette, but here we are.

Since silhouette is one of the first things you process about a character's design, that seems like a reasonable thing to be concerned about.

I had an art teacher that used to claim that the best way to make a normally clothes-less character look naked was to put shoes or socks on them, and that's all I can see when I look at the images.  Naked Sonic.  I realize his original design just had shoes too, but the more anatomical body they given him is just emphasizing it.
