It doesn't look bad to me, but I have no attachment to Sonic as a character or the video games.

You sure that's official?  I thought that was someone who took the silhouette and made a scary looking mock up.

According to everything I've seen, there's no official shots of Sonic's face (But that awful bridge poster has been spotted in the real world.) The fact that there's doubt at all is proof of how low the bar is set on video game adaptations. "That looks horrible and creepy. I'll bet it's real."
