I've learned that, apparently, the Klingon moon of Praxis is where that wily jerk Saddam hid the larger portion of his stash of WMD. Sneaky bastard...

No,
you're awesome for thinking of it!
I've learned that eyepatch straps are out. Everybodys just nailing them into their skull!

I've learned that we can't trust Klingons....oh wait, we CAN trust Klingons? Ah I see.
i've learned that in certian cases star trek can be good i.e. a rifftrax
i can't wait until the 9th
They usually come out around two my time. I'll just watch askaninja.com episodes until then.
I learned that there are NO similarities between the Klingons and Russians... None Whatsoever. Even if the back of the dvd cover uses the term "intergalactic glasnost". 8)
Who is taking the time to watch this BEFORE the rifftrax comes out??? Seriously, why?
Well, I am a TOS fan, so I am obligated to watch anything with Kirk, Spock, and Bones in it, including all 7 movies, even though Generations had the TNG crew. I never really liked any other Star Trek since the original.
Anyway, that reminded me of a funny video:
Sweet! Aww, man, that makes me miss In Living Color.
Can anybody find a clip of that spoof the Simpsons did on Star Trek?
I learned that "Michael Dorn" is just an alias that Worf uses in order to live a relatively quiet life hidden amongst the humans.
I learned that as you get fatter, you no longer swagger. It's more of a lumber.
I learned that scotsmen are still pretty swift with a phaser, despite their rotund appearance.
I learned that ANY Star Trek movie is great that doesn't have a 60 year old Michelle Nichols trying to perform seductive dancing
I learned that i still don't really know what the plot of this movie is. Something about Klingons and Shatner goes to jail, but Iman double crosses them, and someone Kim Catrall is a bad guy, and someone almost gets assassinated by that guy from Benson.
I learned that the guy from "that 70's show" can rock the 3-foot mustache
I learned that Sulu and Slater have an unspoken "thing" between them.
I also learned that "Send Nixon to China" is an old Vulcan proverb. :P

See, for those of us who knew him BEFORE
That 70's Show, it was more like, "Oh my god! It's Clarence Boddicker! He's gonna kill ALL those guys!"
Nowadays, when I see him that role in
Star Trek VI, I keep expecting him to start heaping out abuse on Uma Thurman. :)
haha..you're right, I forgot about that..
I just thought the "dumbass" jokes were great

lol! I forgot about that. I haven't watched the riff yet, but I sure hope that there's either a good line there, or Mike & Co. screaming :o
I learned that the false Klingon assassin was, indeed, NOT bacon.

ATTENTION BOARD MODS:
I have an important question. Is there a rule regarding the maximum density of references in relation to the overall length of a message? And if so, is the above post in violation? I would appreciate a clarification on this point. Thank you. :)
Since Nick Meyer directed ST II and Nimoy directed III and IV, which was basically the best story arc of the Trek films, STVI:TUC (typing this, I see why no one uses it) with Meyer directing and both of them involved with the story... it should have been better.
We learned that the Enterprise has a big ass kitchen, considering we'd never seen it before. Were those space turkeys we saw?
Oh yeah, and Klingon Blood in space is deliciously digital
I learned Rura Pente has no putt putt golf course. :-[

Originally, the Klingon blood was supposed to be red, but to keep their PG rating, they made it purple.
Also, A LOT of bad blood went down between Nimoy and Meyer, Paramount, Roddenberry, etc... Just thumb through Shat's 'Movie Memoirs', and you'll see how Nimoy's ego outdoes Shat's.
I learned that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a vulcan. Which actually makes a lot of sense.

Look at the ears!
Holy cow! Never mind the ears, look at the eyes! Who plugged his finger into the light socket? :o
Back on topic . . . I learned that STVI is impossible to find at Blockbuster's. POOP!!
I'm also wondering what those two wires are that the top of the pic?
I have learned that Star Trek VI is still a great movie anyways. ;D
I learned that even fierce warrior races will appoint you a public defender if they put you on trial.
I learned that randomly spouting Shakespeare is a good way to get you killed. ;)
I learned that Klingons come from Uranus...
and that magnetic boots are sexy.
(That magnetic boots riff was my favorite from the Trax.)
I learned that female Vulcans have orgasms when they are having their minds read.

It's Kim Catrall, for crying out loud! There's a very real possibility she has an orgasm whilst reading
Investors' Business Daily (whereas
I only use
IBD in the beginning, to get warmed up).

I think in order to coach Kim Cattrell for that scene, the director simply said, "Pretend you're in any other movie."
We learned that these Star Trek movies would be so much better if Shatner was replaced with Zap Brannigan.

I seriously doubt anyone was "coached" before making this thing...
I learned that if you stuck for dialogue in a movie, you just randomly insert quotes from other, better, writers.
"Excelsior!"
I also learned that if your dialogue is terrible, make a character who quotes shakespeare all the time, people might actually think that you came up with the lines
I learned that in the Star Trek universe it is possible for a half dozen members of the enterprise crew to beam directly within 10 yards of the Earth president despite being heavily armed ?! ... yet for some reason the presidential assassin chose to "keep his distance" for a sniper attack

1. No, they would be
exactly the same.
2. Every movie would be better with Zapp.

I learned the Spock is an avid Facehugger tango enthuisiest.
I learned that the president was not almost assassinated by that klingon who we didn't know or care who he was, but by that human who we didn't know or care who he was.
I was rather let down by this movie. I thought "The Undiscovered Country" meant death, and that this was going to be like Poltergiest with some technobabble and shatner-nannigans.
Shatnanigans. I like it.

If there's a new word to made from Shatner, I'll find it. I've got my roommate saying "Shatisfaction."

"Shatisfaction."
Oh man, nice one.
If Shatner was put into orbit, would that make him a "Shatelite"?
I've also incorporated "Shatner" into my vocabulary as a sort of exclamative interjection, such as "Shatner! Look at the size of that spider!"
I also learded that the Klingons trust people enough to simply ask who is entering their space, instead of say, scanning their vessel. And it seems the Klingons can't tell the difference between a dalipadted freighter carrying moldy food and a Federation Constitution class heavy cruiser.

Yeah that's a bit unfair to the Shat. We know he exists. >:D

Not necessarily, people also say, "Holy shit!"
I've learned I can't see DeForrest for de trees.
That Star Trek VI, and Star Trek VI alone, was responsible for every stupid disc shaped explosion in every sci fi to date.
That Klingons would feel right at home in a discotheque.
That Clarence Boddicker had a great future going for him, once he got away from Robocop.
After the assasin died, he went on as a puddle of orange jello shots on DS9. Guess being parson at the 4077th didn't pay too well.
Space ships fart, and can be disabled with a banana in the tailpipe.
"OMG bear is driving how can that be?"
"Carfull of midgets!"
I've learned that in space, all warriors are cold warriors. Wow, all this time the Federation and the Klingons had some kind of "Cold War" going, how unique and unlike anything in Earth history.
