How do these movies continue to get produced? We used to have some standards for our movies and now it seems nobody gives a shit.

Dim of the Yard

As bizarre as it sounds, these things do actually turn a bit of a profit.  Not a substantial one, but just enough for these hacks to fuel the next parody in line.

Oh, I get it, because it looks like a sex ed tape!  Ahahahahaha!  (  :grr: )

Well, one thing about this movie that none of the others had was the ability to get the Galaxy Song stuck in my head.

Well I think specifically it's referencing one of the Knocked Up Posters.

Oh.  I stand corrected, then.

Never saw the movie, and still have Galaxy Song stuck in my head, though.

Knocked Up, the most thrilling disaster film of our time.

These people are fucking retarded.

Fuzzy Necromancer

I think it's gone beyond "Genre Movie" parody-ish affairs. For all their flimsy pretense like "epic movie", it's really become "In Theaters Last Summer" Movie. -_-

They aren't even trying anymore. Date movie had a number of date movie tropes. Epic Movie, well, Epic is pretty easy to stretch to encompass just about anything, but I think they stopped trying to actually parody the thing they claimed to parody when I saw the baby ogre in the "meet the spartans" trailer.

Wrong. Twelve year olds have the actual capacity to create, to produce new ideas and give unexpected twists to old ones.  They can invent, think, and imagine.

The people behind Disaster Movie are hideous half-human, half-insects with a parasitic life that depend upon taking the cinematic offerings of others, sucking the life and laughter out of them until not  a shred of depth, amusement, or entertainment remains, piling up the discarded husks, deficating upon them, laying eggs in them, and then tea-bagging the abstract metaphoric corpses. This grotesque pile is then ground up and mixed with the raw materials for celluloid and the result is the next Bloated Parody Franchise Movie.

What? It's the truth! You surely can't be jaded and cynical enough to believe actual actors, writers, and directors would participate in these travesties, are you? No. That's how they get made. It doesn't matter if its a flop. The actual cost to make, say, Meet the Spartans, is only the price for the celluloid used to create the original film reel and a few gallo9ns of replacement bacilloplasm for the bubbling green vats that the film's creators rest in during the day.  Unfortunately, sunlight does not kill them, it only weakens them and prevents the use of their more potent psychic talents and black magic.

No one ever said that these movies were created by twelve-year-old humans, Fuzz. As it stands, you are absolutely correct.

I went to see Get Smart yesterday ;D

look what I saw

QuoteI knew that writers/directors Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the duo behind "Date Movie," "Epic Movie" and "Meet the Spartans," are the some of the most unimaginative people in Hollywood, but this crosses the line. The trailer for the upcoming "Disaster Movie" has been released and it features such nonsense as a cow falling on the head of Iron Man and The Hulk losing his pants.

Since there is almost never a plot in these spoof comedies, the only thing released by Lionsgate to describe the story is the following: The movie follows the comic misadventures of a group of ridiculously attractive twenty-somethings during one fateful night as they try to make their way to safety while every known natural disaster and catastrophic event - asteroids, twisters, earthquakes, the works – hits the city and their path as they try to solve a series of mysteries to end the rampant destruction.

"Disaster Movie" is scheduled to hit theaters on August 29th.

I also saw Forbidden Kingdom which came with the Beverly Hills Chihuahua trailer

Jacob T Caboose...  that trailer makes me want to saw off the top of my skull with a rusty hacksaw then dig out my brain with an ice cream scoop.

I'd rather watch Cloverfield again.   :gouge:

Doctor Who?

Have these two ever watched one of their own movies?
