The smaller creatures were parasites, like lice ...

So does that mean Cloverfield was LITERALLY a LOUSY movie? ;-)

But I kid Cloverfield ...

Ah, a pun, though good, most puns usually bring on the consequence

Wow, talk about PUNishment!   :rimshot:

I learned that when a large disaster happens, people actually park their cars very neatly on the side of the road, get out and start running.

Also, I learned that Monsters are actually Some Redneck's Older Cousin Larry: I mean, how else can you explain the Monster's uncanny attraction to Shiny Objects and Cameras?

I learned that NYC actually has less population than Sioux City Iowa. Either that or they evacuated the entire city in like 5 minutes.

On a related note TJ Miller (aka Hud, aka Douche-cam Guy) is filming a movie here in Pittsburgh, and showed up at an open mic night at one of the local clubs around here a few weeks ago. Pretty nice guy and a really good comedian (supposedly, I wasn't there that week), but boy.... his character in this movie was super-annoying.

Commander Kalgan

I learned that being bitten by an alien/deep sea monster/whatever parasite causes you to eventually pop like a balloon.

Further, I learned that apparently, Hollywood lately has a fetish for people crying blood.  This is the THIRD Rifftrax'd movie I have watched this week that has featured characters with blood coming out of their tear ducts.  (Casino Royale, I am Legend, and now Cloverfield)

Ben

I learned that the standards of audience identification and sympathy have gone downhill since the '80's.  An angry cobra is more likeable than these people.

GLaDOS

I learned that Cloverfield is a bad movie.

Fuzzy Necromancer

XD Why is that the most laugh-inducing comment of them all?
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

"Where there's smoke, there's a smoke-making machine."

MST3Kgirl

i learned that "capturing the stuff that urm, went down" means not filming the monster attacking your city but your friend's feet and reactions to said monster. filming it dead on is so overrated.

your friends will always risk their lives to go help your ex-girlfriend.

bratpop

I learned that you can pass off the ending of a movie as an "alternative ending" by lingering a few frames longer on certain shots but being otherwise identical.

I learned that a creature from the deep sea will not explode when it reaches the lower pressure levels of open air, but will in fact be strengthened enough to withstand multiple bombings.

I learned that chicks who look like Zooey Deschanel feel no pain when having their shoulders pierced by spider-crab talons, and that you can just wash wounds off with Aquafina.

I learned that electronics stores sell fully charged batteries and also ukeleles.

CM916

I learned that Cloverfield is apparently a monster movie, had no idea until they caught the first glimpse of the thing.  :o

That 50 years later, the makers of Godzilla could still make the same movie better than the directors of today.
