Vigilante 2

"Did he ask you to please not kill muggers? Honey, why would he ask you not to kill muggers?"

Just noticed this post after back-tracking a bit.  I don't know the context of this quote, but I pictured Norm McDonald saying it and it's greatly improved by doing so.
Snowhead the Blue Reindeer gave me all the presents in the world.

From Undefeatable:

...I can't really do this god-awful line justice by writing it and putting it into context, except to say that it comes after what is without a doubt the worst fight scene ever filmed.  Or is it the best?  Or is it both?  I really can't tell.  You'll just have to see this turd for yourself.

The line itself is bad enough, but the fact that it's followed by that idiot's completely unnecessary contribution, combined with the godawful delivery (ESPECIALLY by the aforementioned random idiot), that makes this the worst line ever.

As soon as I saw this fight scene, I rented the movie immediately.  I absolutely must witness this abominable crime against humanity.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

...

Alright, i'm sorry i can't find the exact quote but it's from George A Romero's Land Of The Dead...

At some point John Leguizamo declares that he's going to "bust a jihad" on Dennis Hopper's character. I already thought that this was a stupid movie while i was watching it, but that line caught me so off guard that i instantly thought of an almost identical line from Team America and laughed out loud in the theater~

If you've seen Team America you probably know what i'm talking about... if not, where have you been?!

I still say......

"This is where the fish lives" HAS to be the worst line ever.

I swear, I could almost hear Mike, Kevin and Bill fall out of their seats on that line.

Quoteheh, that's the first argument Maddox makes

And then he sounds like a perfect ass when you scroll down and he starts foaming at the mouth about Glenn Beck who was... I'll type this very slowly in case he might not understand me... being sarcastic

I don't really know who he is but when I googled his name and saw radio talk show host I realized I don't care and that the $100 bill trick is funny regardless

and back on topic, sorta.... not a movie, but close...  I've been watching for Walker Texas Ranger on USA lately for shits and giggles between classes and earlier today or yesterday they were somehow in the midwest in 1800 and a sheriff or something is talking about how he was elected, then some guy shoots him, and the camera zooms in on a 3rd guy who says "I guess you've been un-elected"

Any bond film is riddled with horrible lines. Like when he kills some random goon with a harpoon gun and says "Looks like he got the point."
Oh when he knocks some guy into a printing press and says "They'll print anything these days"
I cringe.

But at least you could argue that they're intentionally cheezy.

Bond, after knocking a guy into a bathtub and tossing an electric fan in with him: "Shocking." Like you could resist saying that.

For old times' sake:

Quote[Jody catches up to Melissa, who stares out over the creek.]
Melissa: This is where the fish lives.
Jody: Why did you run?
Servo [as Melissa]: 'Cuz this is where the fish lives.
Melissa: I felt like it. I really wanted to fly, but I couldn't do that, so I ran.
Mike [as Jody]: You're kind of an idiot, aren't you?
[Jody and Melissa draw together in a serious kiss.]
Crow [as Jody]: This is where my tongue lives.

QuoteMelissa: Tell me about yourself. Who you are, all of that.
Servo [as Melissa]: Where your fish lives.
Jody: Well, my father's a Russian count. Now, when the Bolsheviks came in...
Melissa: Stop it.
Jody: You don't believe that?
Melissa: No.
Jody: Well, it could be true.
Melissa: Stop it.
Mike [as Jody]: Oh, sure, Miss This-Is-Where-The-Fish-Lives!

i am shocked and appalled that a few people in this thread thought that ten commandments had bad lines.  I have always thought that the dialogue in that movie was the best part.  Just my opinion though i guess.

I confess I have a soft spot for this movie as well.  My favorite line is Yul Brynner's, about Moses:
"The city that he builds shall bear my name.  The woman that he loves shall bear my child."

And of course his classic, "So let it be written; so let it be done."

Gotta love it!

James Hetfield thanks them for this line....
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

This is where the fish lives...

Oh, for heaven's sake, there have been countless terrible lines in MST3K movies.
How about "Flag on the moon", or "Potatoes are what we eat", or a hundred others.
Why the obsession with this line out of all of them?

I will grant, it might have been the stupidest line on MST3K during the Sci-Fi years.  Maybe that's why it's the only one anyone here is mentioning.

You're somewhat right about it being from a more recent episode, but it also comes down to the facts that "Flag on the moon" comes from a movie full of nonsensical happenings and non sequitor lines, and at least "Potatoes are what we eat," while quite weird, makes a little sense in context. But "This is where the fish lives" makes absolutely no sense. The fish? As in only one? Is she supposed to be joking? Who would write a line like that? The first time I heard that, I could have sworn it was one of the guys riffing, it's so goofy.

Who's James Hetfield?

I'll give you a hint: he's in a band who thinks they will be brought to financial ruin by 12-year-old kids sharing mp3's over the internet.

so far today we've learned that Imrahil (had to copy/paste that spelling ;))) doesnt have a tv and doesnt know who the lead singer of Metalica is... come on man how are ya gonna get the riff jokes?

That kind of makes me wonder how much time mike spends watching tv / listening to pop music, ecetera... his pop culture references are pretty spot on
