I confess I have a soft spot for this movie as well.  My favorite line is Yul Brynner's, about Moses:
"The city that he builds shall bear my name.  The woman that he loves shall bear my child."

And of course his classic, "So let it be written; so let it be done."

Gotta love it!

James Hetfield thanks them for this line....

Who's James Hetfield?

I'll give you a hint: he's in a band who thinks they will be brought to financial ruin by 12-year-old kids sharing mp3's over the internet.

Sad but true.

QuoteThat kind of makes me wonder how much time mike spends watching tv / listening to pop music, ecetera... his pop culture references are pretty spot on

I think Mike's pretty plugged in-- it's a part of his job, really, to keep track of pop culture.  Plus, his kids are approaching "cool" age, I think, and I bet he and Bridget are just great parents who want to know what's going on out there.  I know my folks did.

And nothing else matters.

Grillslinger

I once saw a similar comparison between Christina Aguilera and Dee Snyder. It was uncanny!

Yeah, he is quite pretty, in a creepy drag queen kind of way.  As is Dee Synder.

Christina is like a chameleon. She can look super gorgeous one minute, and skanky Harry Hines blvd. ho the next.

This is fun. Maybe we should start a Separated At Birth thread. Any seconds?

James Hetfield                                                  Ultimate Thor

Christina Aguilera                  Dee Snider
Y'know what's even scarier? My high school guidance counslor looked just like Dee Snider. That did not help me take her seriously.

Who, Dee Snider or your guidance counselor?  Ho HOOOOOOOOOOO!  I just insinuated that Dee Snider was a woman!

People were insinuating that Aguilera was a woman too!

Separated @ Birth is now its own thread under Games & Trivia.

Another nomination for worst movie line: Link, returning home in The Matrix Reloaded. "Where's my puss-- Hey." Cringe-inducing.

Dirty Smelly Anteater

The Doom movie has a number of awful lines.  I'll put in votes for

"You should be looking down a microscope, not a sniper scope!" said completely seriously.
and
"Semper Fi, MOTHERFUCKER!!!"

Reading them here, those two lines are hilarious. I guess it's all in the delivery. Maybe it's just me, but adding "motherfucker" after most things is damn funny.
