So...what's the worst movie line ever?

One over-used line in action-movie screenplays is:

"Let's get out of here."

Jake Lloyd had some life-sucking lines in ep.1 that, well, suck the LIFE out of you!

"Sandstorms are very...very...dangerous."

Stealth had some* bad lines too.   *(some) can be used to denote any unit of measurement or quantity

"Just tell me you love me, you pussy."

It's a festering dog-turd line of dialogue, even my friend-girls hate it. It's a line written by a man, for a male audience.

Why couldn't Jamie Foxx have been the only one alive at the end of the movie? The movie would be an hour shorter, and the ending would only have consisted of him drinking a Mountain dew or something! Talk about a compelling, edge-of your seat ending! There's so much dramatic potential in that! What if the mountain dew runs out? What if he still has a full can, but he can't put it anywhere 'cause he's driving a Honda CRX that doesn't have cup-holders?!

I loathe Stealth's director for not seeing the endless dramatic potential of a Mountain Dew plot device.

Stealth is just Short Circuit if Johnny 5 was an evil jet fighter. I knew to avoid the movie the moment I saw the painfully familiar scene in the trailer of two identical tall buildings crumbling to the ground. The whole theater said "Oh my God" all at once. No thanks, movie, I've already seen that. Really don't want to see it again. As if the big surgeon general's warning "A Rob Cohen Film" at the end wasn't enough.

The offending trailer:

Why have we not nominated Stealth a hundred times over yet? :^)

No way that was an innocent mistake.  They were going for emotional impact with that, and they SUUUUUUUUUCK for it.  I can't believe this is the first I'm hearing of this.  That was egregious.

Because, perhaps only subconsciously, we have no desire to ever watch Stealth, even with hilarious riffing?

Yeah, I kept waiting for some sort of uproar about how tasteless it was, but never heard anything. I can think of two possible explanations. One, that since there were two similar trailers for Stealth, perhaps most people saw the other crumbling towers-free trailer, and it's just my theater that kept showing this one before every damn movie I saw for months. Or, the more heart-warming and life-affirming theory: that most people who would be offended weren't paying any attention to the big dumb action movie trailer in the first place.

The buildings falling down in that trailer are obviously being brought down by a controlled demolition, so I don't know what similiar incident you could be referring to.

I haven't seen the movie, but I can't imagine why they would show a building being purposely demolished in the trailer. They clearly imply that the AI jet-gone-bad has targeted the building: Somebody says "It just selected a target," the jet deploys it's missiles, there's a big explosion, and the building crumbles. As a New Yorker who watched the World Trade Center fall in a remarkably similar fashion as it happened, then over and over again for God-knows-why on the news, that scene is gratuitously manipulative and offensively insensitive. If I had any respect remaining for Rob Cohen - who grew up just a few miles from where I live in the NY suburbs - that wiped it it all away.

Really?  I can't tell the difference....  :-

Oh, and the worst, and most commonly used movie line is "What?".

Often the worst lines in any movie are when one character tells another character what they obviously already know for the benefit of the audience. "Hey, Bill. You remember Mike, right? You met at Kevin's housewarming party last year." "Sure. The one where you hooked up with Kevin's hot cousin. Too bad that didn't work out."

Deep Rising is another bad* movie that was crawling with bad dialogue.

*bad in this case referring to: Festering, grade A, no-artificial ingredients added, dog turd of a movie

My friend Wayne and I riffed this movie and it was loads of fun. However, what really got the movie on my bad side was the little japanese woman that gets pulled down the toilet by the monster in tasteless blood-splattering detail. The movie was asking me to root for the "supermodel slutacular actress" star of them film, and forget about the poor japanese lady that had died a horrible stylized artsy-camera-angle death.

Hah - i actually quite like this film. It's just an O.T.T. monster movie and didn't seem to try to be anything else. The kind of straight-to-DVD flick that's perfect for a mindless night's entertainment.

Great Post here! A lot of great responses too.

I don't recall what movie this came from...something Lifetime-ish....where a woman's husband or lover was revealed to be the murdered. Her Response?

"I trusted you..." Then screams at the top of her eager, overacting lungs.
"I TRUSTED YOU NOT TO BE CRAZY!"

DM

worst movie line ever is in Wall Street when Charlie Sheen just finishes doing Darrel Hannah and then walks over to the window of his New York Penthouse apartment and looks out over the Manhattan skyline and delivers the eloquent...

"Who am I?"

Heh, nobody got my joke.
Oh, I get it. Ha.

Anyway, I was prepared to tell you that you were being stupid and oversensitive about that trailer, since one hears stuff like that about a ridiculous number of things (Oh, I can't believe they released the Two Towers at a time like this!) but seriously, it was 'plane, plane, explosive, towers falling.' I'm sure it didn't come off that way in the movie, but it certainly seems as though someone deliberately edited that into the trailer.

WHY?
