I learned that cutting your own arm off will not cause you to go into shock, or to bleed to death from the severed arteries. I guess Beowulf, the first literary hero, "didn't have time to bleed."

Beowulf was the first to utter the immortal phrase, "Pain don't hurt".

...and he also was a proto-Swayze in that he surfed, but without a board to get in the way.

I learned that this movie is entirely CGI.  I never paid attention to its existence before, but I thought that only Grendel, his mother, and the dragon would be  CGI while all the humans were real actors.

So... it's just a big action cartoon.

One of the main reasons I didn't want to see this one in the first place.  A lot of this was unnecessary.

Fuzzy Necromancer

I learned that if you make a movie that is all animation, and geared towards adults, like Baschi did, people will admire you're work and say you're ahead of your time, and if you make a movie that is all CGI, but geared towards kids, like Toy Story, people will admire it and praise it, but if you make a movie that is all CGI and geared towards adults, people will kvetch endlessly about it and complain about how "unnecisary" it is.
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

Well this is the first I've mentioned the CGI so I don't think I've been complaining endlessly.  I didn't want to see the movie because it looked awful and the ridiculously overdone "I AM BEOWULF" in the trailer got annoying the second time I saw it.

I've learned that "some people" can't enjoy awesome movies like this, 300, Transformers, The Super Mario Brothers movie and the Matrix Trilogy (all 4 of them)... so :P.

;D

(for those of you who don't know,  ;D, means I'm just joking around and the previous is not to be taken seriously)

Thought we learned that in Kill Bill, Vol. 1 (Sofie Fatale)....

I learned that honestly, if not for Mike, Bill, and Kevin's commentary, I honestly don't think I'd know that's what he was doing.  It looked to me like he was just cutting his shirt.  In a related story, I learned I might not be all that bright.
