my STV viewing experience might of been ruined by constant desyncing and the background music in the movie which was rediculiously louder than the actual talking. Having to toy with it that much ruins the experience, especially if the lines constantly become 1 to 2 seconds out of sync.

Yeah the audio levels on STV blow, probably the film that benefited the most from using that voiceover goldwave plugin.

STV and Crossroads benefit from the gw plugin for sure.

Watched this last night and loved it. I think the banter between Mike and Kevin has just been getting better. I enjoy it when there's a definite dialogue between the two and not just line after line.

"Gah!"
"I spilled my water in my lap."
"But you weren't drinki..."
"I spilled my water!"

I agree with this.

I think RiffTrax is going to have a real hard time going back to doing solo riffs. Its just not going to be adequate anymore.

I disagree. I think it's very annoying when Mike and Kevin get sidetracked and start having an unbelievably unfunny conversation. Like the Matrix: "What would my leather suit look like?" discussion. It really detracts from the rifftrax. And I know I'm not supposed to compare it to MST3k but there they never got THAT sidetracked. It usually sidetracked only 3 lines or so. Good dialogue was the:

"Gah!"
"I spilled my water in my lap."
"But you weren't drinki..."
"I spilled my water!"

Short and classy :D

If it gets any longer than that it turns into "Night of the living Dead: Zombie Pie" rant.

Yes, but you have to agree that the 'Mike "the grudge" Nelson' conversation during the starting credits was necessary...to kill dead air.

I agree that sometimes the other long conversations can be distracting. So the short and sweet ones are definitely better.
I don't think they had those kinds of long conversations in MST?? And if they did, it was during the credits or somthing like that.

Agree with you disagreeing. I'd be really sad if Mike no longer did any solo tracks.

1st time Grudge viewer here. I thought the movie itself was genuinely creepy in parts, and the story...well, what story. But the end...really? Is that all they could come up with? You put all this time and effort into a movie and that's how you go and end it? And I think this movie had some sort of weird hair fetish.

I thought the Rifftrax itself was funny as usual. Personally, I prefer 80s cheese Rifftrax (loved Roadhouse, Cocktail and Top Gun) to horror flicks, but that's just me.

Withdrawal symptoms setting in already. Need. More. Rifftrax.

I finally got around to watching this one, after working quite a bite recently, and I gotta say, I thought this was better than Star Wars.  The opening conversation about Mike "the Grudge" Nelson, was hilarious, as was their constant back-and-forths.  The running gag of the entire cast moving about 2 centimetres an hour was great too.  I'll give it a B+.

MrTorso

I liked this Rifftrax. I thought it was fun. All the high school Grudge stuff at the start was pretty funny. The Bill Pullman jokes were good too.

Alright, finally saw it.  I'll give it a 4 out of 5.  Good solid work.  I didn't see anything wrong with the Rifftrax.

I laughed out when mike referenced Shnappi.  It would have gone way over my head if Connor L wouldn't have posted a link to the video in the 'The Game Has Begun' topic.  I didn't know why he posted it, I thought it was just some addicting little German song.  And then it all clicked.  It's a strategy that works well, casually bringing up obscure references from future Rifftrax in the forums.  Helped me enjoy the product that much more.

Well, I wasn't sure I could get through it, but the guys' riffing (and a little strategic closing of the eyes during certain parts) pulled me through. Nice job, Mike and Kevin. I'm still chuckling over "That's some serious detangler!" and Mike's tribute to Hair.  :D Oh, and the Lost jokes were pretty funny too!

Pak and I finally got a chance to see this thing.

I have to say that with the exception of a few good lines, the riffing was a little weak with this one. Or maybe it was the movie. I take my horror seriously and this was the first time I was seeing The Grudge. I wish now I had watched it un-riffed first because I actually got into the movie and the riffing became a little distracting. I was torn between shifting into laughing riffing mode or watching it seriously. I couldn't do both and I finally had to settle into serious mode for the most part while Pak took the other route. The storyline is a bit confusing and weak, but the imagery was pretty creepy.

The funniest scene was the little boy appearing between the floors of the elevator. I got a good belly laugh out of that part. I think I may have to give this one another chance after I've seen it unriffed.

Oh yeah, that reminds me of one I forgot -- where Karen is in a car and describing what she saw, and Hair Girl flashes by outside the window, and Mike deadpans something like, "Yeah, like that."  :D A lot like a similar moment in "Space Children" on MST3K.

i liked this one quite a bit.  much more that LOTR.  very good banter between mike & kevin on a movie that (although suspenseful) moved at a sub-snail's pace.

when in doubt, watch the JAPANESE version of these kind of movies. they're always better and creepeir than the hollywood remakes. (maybe with exception of the ring)

I think most of us can agree that the kevin/mike "conversations" that get us sidetracked  are about as welcome as the DA/mike "converstations" in 5th element  :- ... HOWEVER, mst3k had the luxerury of editing. We have to accept that the occational, non-funny, "conversation" will be neccessary for Rifftrax mp3s.
