What do you bet the next RiffTrax (or the one after that) is Beowulf? Mike's pretty much confirmed that that one is coming eventually and I'd have to guess that it'll be sooner than later.

If it is, they could do both the Theatrical and the Director's Cut, since, from what Ive seen, there's only a minute's difference between the two. So, either one extra joke, or just more non-Riff space.

Is there a difference in running time?  The backs of the DVD cases say they're the same length.

I think the reason there is no Rifftrax this week is probably because there's no rifftrax this week.  They can't release what they don't have finished.  Unless we hear that Mike is broken up about the Swayze thing and has barricaded himself in a fox hole, refusing to record, I think it's safe to say that's all there is to it.

From various internet sources, it looks like there is very little difference between the two.  Nothing that's going to drastically affect the runtime.

The two action scenes of Grendel barging into the mead hall feature extra shots of violence...The opening sequence also features a bit more promiscuity during the celebrations, though no nudity.

It should be noted that this director's cut doesn't feature many noticable differences from the theatrical version. Perhaps a few additional smatterings of blood and an extra glimpse or two of the hot, naked water demon, but viewers aren't likely to notice any new, fully-completed scenes or sequences.
