Wow. That's nice. He should be killed because you don't like his movies? Go back to kindergarten. ::)

Quote from: RoninFox on February 15, 2008, 06:54:57 PMI sat through house of 1,000 corpses and pretty much decided I could do without Rob Zombie films in my life.

Well, what can I say. If you don't like violent exploitation films, there's a chance that you won't like Rob's films.

Quote from: RoninFox on February 15, 2008, 06:54:57 PMI just kind of sat there numb while thinking "how long until the next stupid MTV camera sequence?"

I loved the editing on that film. I don't know why you found it stupid.

Quote from: RoninFox on February 15, 2008, 06:54:57 PMWere Devil's Rejects and Halloween any better?

Many viewers agree that The Devil's Rejects and Halloween were better than House. I have not seen Halloween. Although House is fantastic, Rejects is definitely the better film. Still, like I said, if violent exploitation films aren't your thing....

That's not what I meant. I used both of those with the intent of creating humorous effect, because swat teams and holy water are ways of dealing with The Undead. If I actually wished him to die, I wouldn't have mentioned Holy Water. That doesn't kill real human beings, except for certain US senators.

Uh, I was specifically referring to the "struck down by a SWAT team" part.

Well I like most Tarentino films, so I guess that's not the reason I don't like it.

Because I rented a movie and I got camera effects from every bad music video I've been trying to ignore for the past couple decades.  I've never liked the "crash tv" style of quick cut-quick-cut-close up for two seconds-cut back-cut to something random for a flash-etc.  In small doses I can put up with it, if it's a scene or two or just the fight scenes I can deal, when it permeates the entire film from start to finish to the point when every time a character does something significant suddenly I have to watch a series of nonsensical flashbacks of them talking to the camera in one-liners I just kind of shut down.  Maybe I'm not making any sense here, Its been about two years since I watched that movie, pretty much all I remember of it were scenes full of cut-cut-cut-flash-flash-cut.

Well, you quoted the whole bit. I said "struck down by a swat team" because that is a conventional method for executing Romero type zombies, and it sounded less murder-advocating than "shot in the head".

I just hope they don't include the highly annoying thief character from the second Conan movie. >.<

I've never seen anything this guy does (I don't watch horror) nor heard his music (I don't listen to metal).  But I'm a little bummed; isn't John Milius looking for work? He did a fine job on the first Conan.

He did.  On the DVD I think he mentions that the studio made a mistake with Conan and should've looked at it as a new franchise, releasing sequels every couple of years ala Bond.  He can't do the new Conan movie at the moment though, he's hard at work on the modern day Western movie, Jornada del muerto, starring WWE's Triple H as the suitably action named Johan Hawk...

QuoteIGN got the chance to speak to director Neil Marshall (The Descent, Doomsday) about whether he will helm the upcoming "Conan" movie. Marshall has confirmed that he has already met with the producers. "I had one meeting, and I haven't heard back," he said. "I know they're working on the script now."

The site also asked whether he would like to see strong female characters in the movie, if he were to get the chance to helm. "I don't really know yet," he replied. "I'd quite fancy just doing a film with blokes though."

While he cautions fans that he might not end up getting the job, he still envisions "Conan" as "a rip-roaring adventure, within a semi-historical world."

remember THIS thread...
QuoteIGN checked in with its Conan source to find out about the current status is of the barbarian's big screen return. Nu Image/Millennium Films is producing the new "Conan the Barbarian" movie for Lionsgate.

The site was advised that screenwriters Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer are currently penning their contractual rewrite of the first draft. The filmmakers are still talking to some directors but expect to engage more of them once they have a screenplay everyone is happy with.

Even though everyone is eager to begin production, nothing will move forward until a solid story is in place.

more on the new Conan front

QuoteAICN received a scoop that Lionsgate has hired a director for their upcoming "Conan" project and that their official choice is Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men 3).

The new "Conan" movie will be the first installment in a series of films, and is rumored to have a budget of over $100 million. As always, casting will be very difficult and closely watched, since Arnold Schwarzenegger has so memorably played the character in the 1982 film "Conan the Barbarian."

Many fans will disagree with Lionsgate's choice of helmer, but the writing staff is not much better. Howard McCain and his writing partner Dirk Blackman have been hired to put together a screenplay. Their past credits include only "Outlander," that's going straight to DVD, and the third "Underworld" film.

Huh.  Way to kill my interest in the franchise, Lionsgate.

You know what really sucked about Conan the Destroyer? That it stopped any chance of there being another Conan with Arnie in the lead.  He's bloody perfect for it.  I agree with Milius when he said they should've cranked out 5 or 6 of those things.

BBQ Platypus

Okay, seriously...why?  Why make a sequel without Arnold?  Can Hollywood ever just leave well enough alone and concentrate on - oh, I don't know - something NEW!?
