Wow that was awesome! Good job J-P!

My only claim to fame was meeting some of the Star Wars folks. :) It was fun, but having creepy SW fanboys following you around was not.

If I got anywhere near Natalie Portman, it'd be downright unsafe for /her/ hah....

Anyway - I am jealous you gotta meet the SW folks.

Oh no, didn't get to meet her. The only person I met from the prequel was Ray Parks. He was soooo nice. I hope Hollywood hasn't ruined him and turned him into a jerk. His martial arts skills are fantastic! He just isn't a good actor.

I met sooo many people from the old SW! My favorite was Warwick Davis. I got him to sign a copy of Willow. Peter Mayhew was nifty too! Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to him because the creepy SW fanboy was following me around. Out of all the people I met, the one with the most inflated egos were Dave Prowse and, oh shoot, the guy that plays Lando.

That sucks - Lando was one of my favs.... =(

And Vader has a right to be upset cuz nobody got to see his face, and when the mask came off, it was different actor =(((

Oh sure, but almost twenty years after the fact? Don't take my word for it though, I think it was because he was tired, and late for dinner so he was a little whiney.

Hey Kodiak! Were those photos take at the Sci-Fi Expo in Plano?

I can't say I have a vid of myself using a saber, and I don't yet have a photo of myself holding a saber, but I can say I've met several of the Star Wars actors.

Here's some photo links.

Yeah Ray Parks seemed like a pretty sweet awesome guy. I'm still jealous! And I flippin' /live/ in San Diego...Comic Con comes around each year, AND being part of the Legend crew gets us in for free, and STILL I have no neato signatures or anything =P

No I've been to a billion of em, just no signatures or geeky pics =(

If Portman goes to one, I'm rushing the stage.

I already have it planned out>> Have a guy wait outside with the getaway vehicle, another waiting to take a picture of the tackle.... Three sentries armed with spray-cheese will hold security at bay. I think I'll have a total of about three seconds to plant a small kiss o nthe cheek, just enough time for her to still be stunned before slappin' the hell outta me.

The one she went to I was not at (my Grandfather passed away so I was spending the time with family)

Yes, all were taken at several different Sci-Fi Expos in Plano, except for the first two pics, of Jay Laga'aia(Captain Typho in Ep 2 & 3) and Nalini Krishan(Barris Offee in Ep 2). Those were taken at All Con, in March of this year. I was on the volunteer staff, so I got plenty of chances to hang out with the guests. Funny story: during All Con, March 17, 18, & 19 of 2006, Dallas saw some of the heaviest rain and flooding in years. The hotel we held it at, The Sterling Hotel in Dallas, was so run-down and decrepit that half the rooms had very large leaks, and one room had to be evacuated, because of the danger of electric shock. Honestly, I'm surprised the building didn't cave in! It got most of the guests/attendees all concerned, and in the main room of the convention, a leak was so bad they had to put several buckets and trash cans under it to contain it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kodiak/115209661/

Jay Laga'aia took the chance to have some fun with it and made a sign:

It was so much fun, and the celebrity guests were such good sports. Jay was havin' a blast! Give the guy a microphone and and audience and he's unstoppable!   ;D

This reminds me of the undoctored scenes I saw usuing David Prowse's *real* voice during shooting..........

....unbelievably hilarious!!

Lightsabers: Insuring that nerds never know the feel of a woman touch for over 12 parsecs! ;)

Unless your woman is into that sort of thing!   ;)

Generally they aren't.  But if you find a women who loves Star Wars, you HOLD ON TO HER!

But if she ever has a moment of weakness and says something like "I kind of like Ewoks" or "Gungans get a bad rap", then kick her to the curb like the stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf herder she likely is.

Be careful what you wish for. My wife got all hyped up after Ep 3 and then we watched all 6 in a row one weekend. Actually burned me out on it for a while.
Sometimes things are best left unsoiled by womanhood.

*I nominate this for entry into the 'Greatest Geek Quotes of All Time'*
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.
