Rustem

I walked out of 'Better Luck Tomorrow'... but that was because I was going to go have sex.

Other than that Ive turned off quite a few DVDs but not walked out of many movies.

Hebs

Once Upon A Time In America.

Gah I hate it so.  I think I've already mentioned this in some other thread.

As for The Producers, did everyone know it was a Broadway musical?  It lives up to everything Broadway is today.  If everyone knew that in the first place, you probably wouldn't have rented it at all.  (Personal sidenote:  It's the least 'Mel Brooks' thing he's ever done... very strange).

A little research makes the better movie choice.

How does this version compare to the original movie though?  I haven't seen either one yet, but I'm curious about both.

The original is much better. There's just something off about the musical version. And I've seen many reviews say that the original was Brooks' best film.

It is.  Blazing Saddles is great, but I think it falls apart towards the end, while I've never really liked Young Frankenstein.

As for films I've walked out of - I would love to stomp out of a movie, claiming that it wasn't worth my precious time, but my goal is to watch every movie ever made, so I don't really have a choice.   :)

I believe the "something off" you're looking for is named "Uma Thurman."

Yeah, Producers to me is maybe his 4th best one? Out of the 4 I've seen...I honestly don't laugh ever during it. I think it's funny at times, but it's more of a "heh. That's kinda funny" thing.

I just think Gene Wilder's so good in it.  I never really found Zero Mostel funny, but he's much better than Nathan Lane, and Springtime for Hitler is a great bad musical.

After the top 3 or 4 Mel Brooks' films, the one at number 5 is a huuge drop in quality.  :)

LadyKenobi

I just didn't find Young Frankenstein funny.  At all.

(ducks)

I'll disagree with you, LadyKenobi, but I promise not to throw anything.

If anything, the only thing keeping me from really enjoying Young Frankenstein like I'd want to is an odd sadness.  I watched that movie for the first time in several years last winter, laughed my ass off as usual, then the next day heard the news that Peter Boyle had passed away.  Very strange timing.

Monkey_Boy

It's not often that I walk out of or stop a movie because I usually know what to expect each time I go or rent, but there are a few that were just so awful, I couldn't stand another second!
"Jury Duty" - A friend of mine won the tickets and we walked out 15 minutes in (we hadn't laughed once!) and snuck into "Bad Boys". MUCH BETTER!
"Ballistic: Ecks VS Sever" - Good gravy, was this bad. ::)
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (2003) - I LOVE a violent horror movie, but the characters were too stupid and the violence was too sadistic (i.e., smacking salt on the guy's leg stump).
"Get Carter" (2000) - Stallone's Carter was nowhere as good as Gibson's Porter in "Payback" and he didn't seem all that tough.

I'm sure there are a few others, but I'm getting a blank. They musta been really bad! ;D
"How would I go about creating a half-man, half-monkey-type creature?"
"I'm sorry, that would be playing God."
"God shmod! I want my monkey-man!"

Dim of the Yard

I've seen a group of four teenagers walking out of The Mist.  But they were followed by an usher, so I'm assuming that they had snuck in, and I don't think that counts.

During my second runthrough of The Da Vinci Code in 24 hours (I'll explain later), there was an old couple sitting in front of my party,  During the part where Teabing is playing with his tablet, the old man got up and quietly walked out.  I thought he was going to the bathroom, but he never came back.  (But I have to say, he chose a good movie to walk out on.  Hell, I drifted off during that second runthrough of the movie and almost fell asleep the first.)

Natureboy

I walked out of a theater twice, once for Wired - The John Belushi story, the scene of Belushi's corpes laying on the autopsy table, when one of the workers left a sandwich on his chest, and when the corpse unzipped his body bag and started eating the sandwich, me and a whole group walked out.

The second time was for History of the World Part 1 (but I was a little kid and my folks made us leave).  After seeing it in my adult years, I didn't miss anything.

I recently had to shut off the DVD player trying to watch Curse of the Cannibal Confederates.....worst movie I have ever seen....period....I even enjoy Manos....the uncut version.  But this other movie was about nothing, they did nothing.....it was unbelieable.

Doctor Who?

I walked out on the Simpsons Movie once I relised it was just another really long "Marge leaves Homer" episode.

I can see that plot 150 times a week on TV for free,I don't need to pay six bucks and waist 2 hours of my time one it!

The Simpsons is not a  good show,If it was a good show they wouldn't have to keep reusing the script to their pilot episode every week.

I do remember seeing a couple older ladies walk out of Clerks II once the "Ass to mouth" argument started.  I just sat back with the two friends who went with me and laughed at them, obviously they had no idea what movie they were going to see.   :D  Imagine going to a Kevin Smith "New Jersey Chronicles" movie and expecting not to hear about a single disgusting sex act.  While we're at it, lets all go see the new Saw movie and expect everyone to talk out their problems without violence.

My parents DID see "Spinal Tap" thinking it was a medical thriller.    They stayed for the whole thing.   My dad loved it, my mom was just pissed it was not a Robin Cook movie.

That's what one of my roommates thought when I suggested she watch Spinal Tap.  Said she couldn't bring herself to, because she hates needles.   ;D
