So if it's bad we're blaming Murphy?  I'm no fan, besides Trading Places I can't think of a movie of his I've liked but that seems a cop out to me.

Well, if I blame Bill, then I'd have to blame Tom Lennon and Ben Garrant for all the crappy movies they've written. I mean, I do, don't get me wrong, but since I don't really care about those movies it doesn't bug me that they did a little sumpin sumpin on the side for the benjamins. Whorin' ain't easy.

It's true that Murphy hasn't done anything good recently, but you can't say he sucks.  I still respect the guy for his brilliant stand-up special Raw, as well as Beverly Hills Cop, which is one of the funniest comedies of the 80's.  And Bowfinger wasn't too bad either.

Well you can argue that he sucks NOW compared to then. Yes 'Beverly Hills Cop' was a classic and the sequels weren't bad but if consider

Norbit: The title that gives you no information of any kind whatsoever. Could be a thriller with a serial killer, could be drama, could be comedy, could be romance, Norbit could easily by a CGI alien in a scifi movie or a geeky protganist turned superhero, NO CLUE AT ALL.

Then the trailer for Norbit. I can see it now.

Obnoxious executive: Alright, think of a "Yo Momma so fat" joke. Okay? Now extend that into the plot and purpose of an entire film. Now, add in a moral, something like "skinny girls are nice and fat women are domineering and evil". Add in a shrivelled prune man making a rather pathetic one liner about how somebody else is nasty looking. Now, are you still with me? I want you to tone down the intellect, and have Eddy Murphy dryhump Eddy Murphy."

I just hope Bill does the commentary track for the DVD.

Eddie Murphy has been in some good things and he's really funny when he's in the right thing.  Here's hoping.

It's hard to make a good poster for a comedy, I think.  Especially an absurd concept like this.
