It's the worst of the set (so far), but it's not terrible, merely disappointing considering the pedigree of the other two.  Kate Capshaw is certainly no replacement for Karen Allen though.

Honestly, I thought some things about it (Temple of Doom) were kind of ridiculous, compared to the Judeo-Christian theme of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade.   Okay, so the Ark of the Covenant is real and just as dangerous as it's described in the Bible, and the Holy Grail is
real too.   But voodoo is real too?  So are all religions correct?  Somehow Temple of Doom seemed like a Hercules/Xena episode
to me, and a below average one at that, with a cackling Hindu kid using a voodoo doll to hurt Indy--wait a minute, Hindus practice voodoo?
Nevermind.  Forget it.   Trying to "think" about this movie in any way will only hurt your head and leave you none the wiser.

I also didn't realize that Hindus subsist mainly on a diet of scorpions, snake fetuses, spiders, cockroaches, millipedes, refuse, and ants.
This film is almost laughable in its grotesquely racist portrayal of Hindus as primitive cannibalistic human-sacrificing Satanic filth-eaters.
I wonder how Spielberg would feel about a film that depicted Jews cackling and snorting solid gold coins into huge, oversized plastic prop noses,
before partaking in a feast of ham, shellfish, and human babies?  He probably wouldn't find it funny, and he certainly wouldn't find it entertaining.

You all ought to be fairly informed, that someday... everyone caught liking Indiana Jones and the
Temple of doom will be forced to undergo the Ludovico treatment.

I should point out that I hated Temple of Doom before I became a Hindu. I almost forgot how offensive it was in that regard.

Well I certainly didn't get that, not from a Banquet with the Child King, I think the point was that the rich were eating amazingly extravagant food, after we had seen the poverty that the village was in. Plus of course these same people turned out to be the cult leaders.

Okay... perhaps we're not communicating here. What I meant to say is there are hundreds of movies that are better than Temple of doom. There's no denying that.

But there are also hundreds that are worse...

So that would make Temple of doom somewhere in the middle... indicating that it is mediocre  ;)

I would watch Temple of Doom 800 times before watching Return of the Jedi.

Now would be a good time to take my anti-psychotic medication.
