The origin of my name is pretty simple (if not rather egotistical). Take a guess...............................................give up, it's my myspace page. Not particularly big on coming up with clever names because I might forget them and besides I can whore myself on any forum I go, which is good as I run a highly self-promoting myspace comedy page.

I changed my name since I came here.  My first one was "wakkaumei," which is also the name of my LJ.  (I am SO cool, yesiree.)  The name came from a merger of my two obsessions at the time, Final Fantays X and DDR.  "Wakka" was the name of my favorite character, and "Kakumei" was just a fun song.  So I kind of threw the names together, like Bennifer or Bradgelina, only geeky.

Then, after a few months of posting here, I decided it was just TOO geeky and made no sense.  It was two years old, anyway, so I needed to get away from the name.  I jumped onto Monty Python and tried to think of a relatively obscure sketch.  I happened upon a courtroom sketch in the third episode of the series, stole a name of a character, and ran with it.  A video to said sketch can be found here.

I think I'll stick with the name for a while; it's fun being referred to as Dim.  Besides, I tend to do rather silly/stupid things from time to time, so I can cover it up well enough by saying, "Well, I suppose that's why they call me Dim," or something to that extent.  Instant excuse!  I love it.

I got the Python reference right away, but had no idea you were Wakkakumei. I wonder if anyone else changed their name and I didn't realize...

Fooling. But I was unsure for a moment whether you changed your name or whether there was someone particularily unoriginal on the boards all of a sudden.

Ok, my name is from my first days on IRC back in 96 or 97, when I first got on the internets (instead of just BBS' and Usenet) so I jumped on and had to pick a name, so I went, "I know, no one else will use Zaphod!",other Douglas Adams Fans on the Internet? Unpossible! But I very quickly learnt how very wrong I was. So I thought to myself, what is a really bizaare name that I can practically guarentee that no one else would use..... and it became a decision between BathTub and ShowerHead, clearly BathTub won. And I have used it for everything ever since. Except for those few places where some freak took BathTub first, omg what weirdos. In those cases I am BathTubNZ.

Yeah, I can't settle on any one one thing for too long, as evidenced by the approximately twelve thousand avatar images I've used so far, but I try to at least keep to some variation of Skartopus. I was McSharky O'Pus for a while around St Paddy's Day, and briefly Capt. Sharktopus when I reached "hero member" status. I'm fickle.
