Are any really jumping out at you as truly realizing terror?

Here's a list of coming soons:

The Invasion
Trailer for I Am Legend
30 Days of Night
Captivity
Halloween
I Know Who Killed Me
The Signal

I am looking forward to I AM LEGEND and THE INVASION, but nothing else really looks all that interesting or unique....

I m actually looking forward to seeing how Zombie handles the Hallloween remake....i liked house of 1000 corpses and devils rejects, maybe he can save the struggling series?
"Enjoy every sandwich." - Warren Zevon

Douglin

30 days of night could be decent.  The comic was good and the reviews at aicn are pretty positive.

Junkyard

I Am Legend is all that stands out for me, really. Next up is Invasion, but only if I'm hurting for a movie.
(Odd: Last Man on Earth Remake and Invasion of the Body Snatchers Remake are the only ones I see myself watching.)

J-Proof

Yeah - the remakes seem the most unique -- odd lol

I'm pretty sure that I Know Who Killed Me is a remake as well, of D.O.A (Dead on Arrival).  But yeah, I Am Legend looks pretty awesome.

I read recently that they did some massive reshoots for Halloween, mostly on the kill scenes.  Not sure what to make of that.  I"m not really to interested in Halloween anyway.  Not much of a Rob Zombie fan.

I'm looking forward to '30 Days of Night'.  Its a simple concept that should make for a good horror flick.
I've sort of fused Flashdance with MC Hammer shit.

I'm gonna come right out and say it: WHY ALL THE REMAKES?!
As happy as I am to see a Will Smith take on I Am Legend, I have to wonder how we are managing to run out of ideas.
We've got effects that can kick the asses of all previous decades, ideas from all sorts of cultures, and we end up with remakes and cliches!
Captive: ARE WE ABOUT DONE WITH THE "MADMAN TORTURING PEOPLE" GENRE YET, HUH?!

Petey Wheatstraw

I'm looking forward to Halloween. Rob Zombie is a great director in addition to putting out some great music.

Captivity was written by the brilliant Larry Cohen - who wrote and directed films like Black Caesar, Hell Up In Harlem, God Told Me To, etc., so it might be good.
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

pyro

since you're apparently a fan Isaac, do you suggest Devil's Rejects or House Of 1000 Corpses?

Petey Wheatstraw

If you're a fan of old-school exploitation/horror films, House and Rejects are very entertaining.

might just grab House then and wait to borrow Rejects from a friend, thanks

J-Proof

I learn to deal with lack of uniqueness by just reminding myself that literally no story has been untold, it's jsut a matter of how the director does the telling....

I AM LEGEND and INVASION are taken from older ideas, but if they are directed well, the remakes will be very fun updates to their predecessors.

.....I have a totally unique idea about this horror movie involving a guy who wears a mask that stabs people...... hehe

As the saying goes, "You can't write anything new about Egypt."

I suppose. I could name any idea, and likely as not you could name where it's already been done.
