Actually, I'd like to see a movie based on "The Remarkable Millard Filmore" by George Pendle. An American president bumbling through an investigation of the Freemasons, inspiring Zorro, meeting Captain Ahab, trading places for a day with the Pope, befriending Edgar Allen Poe, and narowly avoiding a duel with Jackson.

  I thought we'd already had our bio on Lincoln. I recall some kind of made-for-TV movie about him some years ago. Or am I hallucinating again? Maybe I need my dried frog pills.

No need to pull a Bursar. That's where the pic of Waterson comes from.

Actually I'd like to see one about Andrew Jackson, especially since the portrait on the $20 bill makes him look like The Fonz ;D

Ayyyyyeee! You're right!

   I had to do a 20 page essay on Jackson once upon a time. I thought it would be boring, but the more I researched him, the more I realized he kicked major ass. My American History teacher later on in college insisted that he was the only President that did NOT need the secret service. If someone threatened him, he probably just knifed them right then and there without an arrest or trial.

Especially if you talked smack about his wife.

Which happened more often than you might think, because his wife was TOWTALLY HAWT!!

Actually I think Tyrant might know what I was refferencing.

But you're sort of right; aparently hawt!! enough to be an accused bigamist (thouth that portrait seem to give the lie to that)

J-Proof

Charleton Heston played Andrew Jackson... It was actually a great movie about the War of 1812.

That being said, I'd see a movie with Henry Winkler as Andrew Jackson fourteen times AT LEAST in the theater.

Also - that post with the Rock as Abe Lincoln is HILARIOUS.

The following are my totally off-base picks for presidential biopics:

George Washington :: Peter Boyle (deceased but whatev')

Woodrow Wilson :: Robert Duvall

Thomas Jefferson :: Jonathon Pryce

Gerald Ford :: Brad Garrett

Ike Eisenhower :: Fred Thompson

And just for the heck of it....
James Polk :: Count Dracula
J to the Pizzo
P to the Jizzay...

My Nan looked like George Washington. She had better teeth though I'd imagine.

  Yup. Which is another reason why Jackson kicked it. He had an axe to grind during his entire presidency.

  If they ever make a movie about him, I hope there's a scene where he's pointing a pistol at someone's head and giving the ol' "you killed everything I ever loved" speech. And they he blows them away! Most awesome President EVER.

Page 14 of the script:
JACKSON: I got a threshold, Martin Van Buren. I got a threshold for the abuse that I will take. Now, right now, I'm a fuckin' race carriage, right, and you got me the red. And I'm just sayin', I'm just sayin' that it's fuckin' dangerous to have a race carriage in the fuckin' red. That's all. I could blow.

Instead of casting for generals, casting for William Seward might be a more pressing task.

Y'know, that could really work if Pryce was a little younger.

Damn good call, plus it'd be a nice nod to the mini series.

I was about to suggest Adrien "World's Biggest Schnoz" Brody as a joke, then, all of a sudden, waitaminute...
