It was also okay that they only referred to him by the title Silver Surfer the one time.
And kudos to them for never once uttering the term "Fantasticar." :^)

Incidentally, for that exact reason, the director of the next Hulk movie has said that the next movie is gonna have Abomination in it, but he'll never be referred to as "Abomination."

So what are the odds of H.E.R.B.I.E. showing up in the next movie? :^)

He already made a cameo in the extended edition of the first movie.....

You know, these movies are corney enough, I don't know why they can't just have conplete fan service and have a giant armored purple man arrive from space.

Junkyard

For the same reason they had to ruin Dr. Doom. Because they think there are plausability threshholds. But really, making Galactus more abstract was a good move, I think.

It stinks
I've sort of fused Flashdance with MC Hammer shit.

Tripe

Damn, and I was hoping that "All that you know is at an end" was a reference to the Fantastic Four movies sucking.

J-Proof

I can't begin to say what a waste of time Fantastic Four was.....

They dumbed down the Surfer, they REALLY dumbed down Galactus, and Jessica Alba was a flippin' BETTER actor in the movie than whoever it is that plays Mr. Fantastic -- I mean, Ben Affleck would have done a better job than that guy.....

LOOPHOLES ANYONE???

This is one of the first movies I've seen where I had to call up a friend that didn't go with us to basically just rant about how bad it was.

That being said - go check it out, it's a riot if you bring intelligent friends with you.

I just noticed the screenplay/story was written by Mark Frost one of the main brains of Twin Peaks, apparently even that didn't save this movie?

J-Proof

The movie needed saving from too many levels.... There was just too much wrong with it....

Well that's too bad I thought maybe there was a chance that the screenplay may originally have been pretty good but due to directing/acting/editing it went horribly wrong. but then again Mark Frost could have been the brain behind all the worst parts of Twin Peaks. I guess I'll just have to wait for a possible Rifftrax of this in the future for this movie if I ever am going to watch it.

J-Proof

Yeah - don't get me wrong, it's a fun movie to go and piss all over when you're there =)

But I went in expecting THE SILVER SURFER -- not the GUN METAL GREY BOOGIE BOARDER .... if you catch my meaning....

Well, this movie didn't piss me off, so I guess that's a good thing.

I'm with Pak on this. Enjoyable but with a number of disapointing elements. Namely Galactus. Couldn't they have at least had the clouds forming a face or something about to gobble up Earth? It's what I had been looking forward to the most. Bleh.

I like Surfer. I like him a lot. I thought they got his character down, even if he didn't always look right on screen. I have to say that the FF movies aren't afraid to be comicbook movies, which is nice in this age of "darkening up" comicbook franchises. But this same concept confuses me when it comes to Galactus. If they're going to go for corny, why not stick with it and go all out? Have the big purple man come and try to eat Earth. Sorry to keep mentioning this, but I was really disapointed.

Jessica Alba still makes me angry, too. She just doesn't fit at Sue Storm. It's so obvious they only chose her based on the fact that she'd be drawing in crowds. Nothing more.

Every time I think of Galactus, I always picture the moon with a huge chunk of it bitten out and the letters "CHA" on it.
"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere.
Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen."
