I think God went wrong there, Tripe. Or evolution or Pan, or whatever. :)

We had a hamster named Zim a few years ago. His real name was Zimmington P. Humplebottom. I'm still not sure what the P stood for.

My adoption just got approved today, so tomorrow I'm gonna go pick up my little calico kitten! ^_^

I will DEFINITELY have pics. I'm just in a really good mood over this because I've been depressed as all hell this week. The holidays really had me down, and this week kinda sucked too. But now I'm just really excited!

Such is the power of kittens.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

Thanks ^_^.

Looks like I'm gonna go pick her up tomorrow. I'll post a picture as soon as I can. Judging by her size and her eyes still having a little blue in them, I'd say she's around 12 weeks. And the adoption person said the same thing.

Since I have cats on the brain at the moment, I'll show a couple pictures of my first cat, though. She was actually my brother's cat, but she pretty much just became the family cat after he left for college. The photos are a little grainy, though, because they're older. Sadly, she was hit by a car when she was 11. One more reason I intend to keep my new kitty indoor-only (that and I don't live in the country anymore).

She had several names. First my brother named her Spock because we it was a boy cat. Then after a few months we realized the... boy parts.. should've descended by then, and we realized it was a girl cat. So he changed it to Valaris (Since then, I've become very familiar with those Star Trek movies. One of these days I'll have to ask him why he named her after the BAD female Vulcan, and not Saavik. Wrath of Kahn was a better movie anyway. ^_^). And all the while, my dad seemed to think that as the house patriarch or some shit that HE had the right to name all pets, and tried naming her Duane.

So, she eventually just became Little Black Cat. We all were constantly just calling her "Little Cat" as a nickname anyway. She was the runt of the litter, so never got all that big. It's a shame we never got pictures of her as a kitten, she was SO damn tiny when we brought her home. My brother actually first brought her into the house in his coat pocket. We'd find her nestled up and sleeping in the spaces between our couch cushions. It was a few months of carefully watching where we sat until she got bigger.

This was her around 2000 I think.

And that was her in '04, probably not too long before we lost her. ;_; That brown eye is still a real mystery to us. When she was young they were both yellow, and later on it started as one spot and then covered the whole thing.

I would've had more pictures, but taking photos was really a bitch in the pre-digital days. Had to take the photo, use a whole roll, and really stay on my mom to make sure she'd go have the damn things developed. And only then would we know how well they came out. In a lot of ways, we really live in a great time! ^_^

Well, I got my new little kitten cat home.

Penny Lane, but I think I'll go with "Laney" for short. I know it's not the obvious nickname, but that's the point.

She spent about the first hour or so here just walking around exploring her new home, checking out every little nook and cranny. It didn't take long for her to start being affectionate. And I was able to get some pictures, although it took some doing because she tended to move RIGHT as the picture was being taken. >.<

The third one I think is especially cute because I thought she'd disappeared on me. I looked all over the house trying to find her, and then I saw her little head poking out of the blanket there.

To steal a line from MST3K, she is "agressively cute".

Well, thank you.

"Aggressively cute." I remember one of them saying that, but I forget which episode it was.

It's also rather fitting that she'd choose to curl up in my Lions blanket. Also a little ironic, since I'm pretty sure she could play FOOTBALL better than the Lions. ^;_;^ (That's supposed to be a teary, bittersweet smiley.)

OMG, my kitten's name is Abbey Road! They should become BFFs.  :D

Glad I'm not the only person to nickname their cat. It took about a month for me to finally settle on Zoe, which stuck pretty quickly, but when she grew into her "I'm a mighty warrior jungle cat" phase of attacking anything that moved (or didn't  move, sometimes) I started jokingly calling her Puma, scary Puma, silly Puma, terrifying Puma, et cetera. (And I only recently saw Ring Of Terror for the first time, so that had nothing to do with it, although now I sometimes call her Pyooma instead.)

So we often call her by her full name, Zoe Puma... Except once, when she doing something bad, I don't remember what, and I yelled "Zoe Elizabeth Puma stop that right now!" I have no idea why I said Elizabeth. I think I was making a Producers reference to the cat. She didn't get it.
