Yeah, you don't see too many rabbit 'speed bumps' dead in the road round here :P

wurwolf

Not like in Pennsylvania. Holy shit, there are so many dead animals on the side of the road it's not even funny. Also, it's deer mating season and apparently the turnpike is like a nightclub to them. Every week I see at least one spot on the road that is covered in blood, guts and torn limbs from some deer that was standing in the middle of the road all, "Helloooooo, ladies!"

Was thinking of the cold.

If it's not a "native" rabbit, it might not have enough coat to keep it warm.  Not sure it adapts.

It's a native rabbit.. That's what I meant when I said 'wild'. It likes to hang out under my shed off and on so he seems to be doing fine :)

We have to remind kids in this area of the country that baby opossum and armadillos are not born dead on the side of the road.....

I ran over a possum the other night. Felt guilty about it for hours.
Well probably nothing you could've done about it cause they aren't the brightest animals on Earth.. :-\

RobtheBarbarian

It probably got swarmed by a mob of crows and picked apart before too long. I doubt it lingered much.

Ever consider working for a suicide hotline? I think you've got the subtlety to talk people down.

How do you know it's the same rabbit, RVR?

Well I live in the city and rabbits are a rare sight around here and I've never seen more than the 1 rabbit every single time..
Plus It's been coming around since it was tiny (since August I believe) ;D
Sounds like a lost (or abandoned) pet to me, then.    :(
I'm not so sure.. It definitly acts like a normal 'wild' rabbit and seems to be getting plenty of food where ever it goes.. :-\

We leave it lettuce, carrots, and theirs plenty of acorns and pecans around from the trees and no real predators around here either..

I get lots of bunnies visiting my house as well.   Sure are cute.
