Thanks to Anais.Jude for the heads-up on this thread (it might've otherwise taken me a long time to find it... if I ever did).

So... my cat, "Lucas", is a beautiful full-black cat (something I'd wanted pretty much as far back as I can remember).  [By the way, my screen name is for him, not him named for me (it was his name for three years before I got him).]  He was a stray rescued by my vets' office, who I got just a few months after my previous cat (of 17 years) died.  He was VERY well socialized before he'd been abandoned (thankfully), so he is VERY affectionate.  And most every night he'll sleep against my lower leg with at least one paw draped over it as if it were a body pillow, as in his eyes I am clearly one of his littermates.   ;D

I have, for a few years now, produced 'small quantity' homemade notecards with first, my previous cat, and now with Lucas.  Most of these are pics that have ended up on notecards.

First, a portrait, to get the overall feel...

Then an 'action shot' with his catnip-saturated faux mouse...

1940s-era film 'sneaking'...

"Bodyguards"

Last month I brought a ramiken of snow in for him, here is some of his tentative examination of it...
[irrelevant detail: not turned into a card because of the background clutter]

Get ready to "Awwww....", this is "Rabbit Paws"...

and... him not QUITE comfy enough yet...

...and finally (for this post, certainly) the last pic of him, so let's have a big...
HIGH FIVE!!
To dispel some of the misconceptions about head injuries you have developed from watching movies and TV, I wrote this: ...Some Information on Head Injury Effects

MrTorso

Here is my cat Trouble:

Here he is when were getting ready to move and he was completely stressed out and not cleaning himself. I think of it as Trouble doing his Bill the Cat impression. The pic is big so I spoiler tagged it:

Little Bill
Spoiler

Little Bill is named thusly because we used to have a regular Bill, who was bigger than Little Bill, who is very large.

Misty

Spoiler
She's been around since I was about 5. She hates all other cats and takes it out on us.

Scooter

Spoiler

Scooter is Misty's (rejected) son. He's awesome. He was born with his back legs turned backward, but he gets along just fine and is happy most of the time.

Here you can see how his back legs are.

Sam
Spoiler
Sam showed up at our house one day. He's retarded. He forgets who we are nearly every day and has to learn to trust us again. Once we do re-earn his trust, he begins chewing on our toes and WILL NOT STOP. Even if you begin walking, he will try to move with you. I also suspect he can't see very well. Despite all this, I can't help but like Sam quite a lot.

Snacking on toes...

Tawny
Spoiler
Tawny is a noisy rug.

Beabith
Spoiler
Officially named BeBe, but when we took her in to be spayed and found out he was a boy, we decided to call him Beabith. Born with some sort of spine problem, Beabith didn't learn to use his back legs naturally and was given to us by my cousin to take care of, since she was going off to college. He would drag his back legs on the ground instead of walking. After a few months of exercising his legs, he learned to walk. His back is curved and he sort of waddles with his back legs, but he's very active and fast. He doesn't walk worse than other cats, just in a different way, really. He's also very bright, and is good at letting us know exactly what he wants, something our other cats never figured out.

Yeah, he's awesome.

Porko
Spoiler

As Porko got older, her body grew, but her head stayed the same size. We don't see her too often. She likes to hang out in the woods where Misty can't harass her.

Zoey
Spoiler
My dad found Zoey on the side of the road, dazed but not injured. It took her months to work up the courage to explore the whole house.

Quirk, are you a lonely dowager?

Quite the opposite, actually. I'm a 17-year old boy living with my family. It was a good guess though, given the information available to you.  ;D

Chaos

That is seriously the largest number of problem cats (at least percentage-wise) I have seen in one location in my entire life, and I've volunteered for four separate rural shelters. Cheers to you guys for being so open about caring for them regardless of their condition.

You're living in a Mutter Museum for cats.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Invader_quirk

I'm getting quite a lot of cheers.

Chaos

Just don't go thinking you can open up a bar or anything.
