I dunno why I ended up reading this, but a poster on the IMDb message boards put forth an interesting theory regarding the Joker image (Which I have mixed feelings about.) and the guerilla marketing campaing in general:

How sure are we that the picture shown is actually the real joker? Yes, there are odds that the picture is defenitly from Warner Bros, using guerilla tactic marketing (which btw, is quite ingenius), but as I read on to it, there are a few peculiar issues.

How can we be sure it really is the Joker? For all we know, its just a picture to create panic for Gotham. Lets just assume for a minute that this whole thing is a way to create a picture for TDK. Harvey Dent is running for office, and the Joker is doing some sort of smear campaign. He not only vandalizes Dent's posters, but then slowly instills theatrics by putting grotesques pictures of clowns (maybe his victims?) to garner attention.

Then, when found out, someone closes the site down, but is actually another tactic (highlight the page, you can see laughing scripts, something I think Joker would actually do).

Now, why do I say this? Well one, I dislike the picture, so I'm looking for more reasons to say this may not be the real Joker pic. Second... why isn't the Joker smiling in that pic? Something like this would put a big smile on his face. The HahAhaHa scripts also gave me that idea. Third..... why can't we see his whole face? Hair? Facial lines? How sure are we that the picture is actually Ledger?

Well, considering the pedrigree of actors Chris Nolan has somehow convinced to lend credibility to a new Batman franchise after the JoelShumacher debacle, I just don't see the star of Satan's School For Lust and Lord Of The G-String meeting his criteria.

Regarding the ongoing Who Could Play Harley Quinn? debate - which I'm fairly sure is moot, but fun nonetheless - I suggest Brittany Murphy, in full Sin City, trashy junkie slut mode. (Like she has another mode...) She's the right general look, decent acting chops, and after growing up the daughter of a Jersey mobster and dating Eminem for a while, might know a thing or two about abusive relationships with criminals and megalomaniacs:

Agreed. No matter what Keaton does you know he's just a hair's breadth from plainly psychotic; it worked perfectly.

I second Brittany Murphy.  Something tells me she would have Harley's mind-numbingly annoying voice down easily.  Oh wait!  That's HER mind-numbingly annoying voice.  Nevertheless, she would probably work pretty well as Harley.

Umm...has it even been announced that Harley Quinn is going to be in the movie? If she was I imagine it would only be a cameo as a psychiatrist  in Arkham.

Let's face it she's basically the Joker's version of Robin and it's unlikely they'd introduce them both at the same time, I think they would want the Joker to be the main villain and not be part of a duo...at least not yet.

I thought she was pretty good in Sin City - which I didn't think she would be.  "I'll cutcha little pecker off"  - was like, whooa... she'll do it.

I have to say nay to Brittany Murphy-- as an actress i think she is pretty much horrible. Even in Sin City I thought she was the worst (just my opinion tho).

She /does/ look the part, but looks aren't everything of course. Rose Byrne can pull off the clown makeup (which she does in Wicker Park) /and/ she can pull off the clean-cut, stright-edge therapist aspect of the role as well.

Apparently there's a Dr. Harley Quinn on the cast list (possibly a role that MAY develop, like Dr. Conners in Spider-Man 2 or even the tiny cameo of Hank McCoy in X-Men 2).

I'd go with Brittany Murphy too but I think Kirstin Bell or Asia Agento could also do the role well.
