I thought I should make a thread about this.

Question... does anybody think this is going to be any good? I'm just afraid that this is little more than the original film with a bunch of pointless scenes full of promise that will never come true, now that it seems like DC movies seem to do best when not part of an interconnected universe.

I'm expecting it to be hilariously bad, which will at least be an improvement on the non-Incel version

I started watching it.  Pretty much as you would imagine it would be.  I think the movie would have a regular run time if they just put all the slow motion scenes in regular time.  Also, I think "cut" is misleading.  I'm pretty sure nothing was "cut."

So far the entertainment from this has been Twitter refusing to reconcile their belief from years of "just release the Snyder Cut, it was basically done" from the reality that Snyder had to film a movie and a half to get what he's actually releasing.

Yeah, I kind of adhere to the philosophy that no matter what, jamming a whole bunch of new scenes into an ultimately broken movie doesn't make it better. That's not to say of course that the original cut of Justice League was bad. It was a decent movie, at the very least, it was at least a movie for whatever flaws it had. A movie can be broken and still be decent.

I'm sure the movie answers a lot of questions, but I think in all harsh honesty, did the answers make this cut of the movie all that more satisfying? Somehow, even though I haven't seen it yet, I kind of doubt it.

The sad part is that I doubt they're going to continue the story from here. Can you imagine Warner Bros. making a Justice League 2? At this point, they've already gone ahead with Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, so I am not optimistic that the DCEU will continue, so when it comes to this movie, even if it's better, what ultimately was the goddamn point???

I just don't understand why they would greenlight a script if it takes four hours to tell the story. Doesn't the "one page equals one minute of screentime" still apply to action movies, even just as a ballpark estimation? If so, then it must have been a 240 page script and they couldn't be too surprised how ungainly the thing ended up.
Or, what seems more likely, is that Zach Snyder added a ton of shit that wasn't in it originally based on the criticisms when JL came out. Which means that this wasn't his original vision after all.

I hated Man Of Steel. And I hated BvS extended edition and Justice Leagure when I saw them out of morbid curiosity. I need to keep my morbid curiosity from hurting me again!

I know it wasn't the actual point, but I'm okay with the point going forward being "fuck Joss Whedon."

This film is presented in a 4:3 aspect ratio because Snyder didn't shoot the sides of the screen and tried to get us to pay another $90 Million to reshoot it again.

I am trying to imagine how that would work, and it would be amazing. I know, I'm biased in favor of Marvel, so I still think Hawkeye would somehow win.

Supposedly it's because this is closer to the 1.42:1 IMAX aspect ratio. How this makes sense for a movie that's being shown exclusively on TVs, I have no idea.
