Yeah it's a tacky topic but the low hanging fruit was hanging there.

So this is going to have spoilers first.
I learned that both Barry Bostwick's were over the top in a way that I didn't know he could do. Putting a mustache on him doesn't make him evil.
I learned that contractor white paint is not the most white washed thing that I have seen. Jeesh.
I learned that.. oh let's just say it. Do you know this takes place in China. No really it takes place in China. Did we mention it takes place in China. It in no way takes place in China.
I learned that I could find out about a release by looking at the forums before I find out about it in my email or on Twitter. That was new. Got to see it before work. Thanks forums!
I learned that this had some of these worst sets this side of Thumbelina and that is truly saying something.
I learned this had some of the worst film/CGI effects this side of Feeders/Sasquatch. No one could find an Amiga and get Video Toaster?
I learned Genies don't have a three wish limit in this world. WOOHOO!
I learned that Princesses just hang around with the riffraff on the streets randomly just because
I learned that this practically has nothing to do with Aladdin and might as well be Japanese Spiderman. So why not give us a Genie Mecha?
Fodder's just this guy, you know.

But it's brought up so naturally, which I write from Germany! I mean, here, in Germany, where I'm writing from, I found this movie to be very funny! In Germany!

I learned that the line between "genie" and "flamboyant gay stereotype" is very thin, and Barry Bostwick at this stage seems well on his way to transform from Brad Majors to Dr. Frank N. Furter.

I learned that Asia and Arabia are basically the same, and are populated mostly by white people.

I learned that "Disney musical" does not equal "memorable tunes" or even "songs that are better than the ones from Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny".

I learned that the effects I can create with no experience using freeware are like The Rise of Skywalker compared to this movie's Star Wars Holiday Special-level.

I learned that princesses are eager to marry people they just met, whose only character trait, as far as they know, is "inept at kite flying".

So what you are saying @PontifexPrimus is that you are in Germany? See my problem is that nothing around you looks like Germany.
Oh and @cjones yeah what the heck did she see in him? I mean there was no attraction between them ever implied other than kiting. Sure DC comics has a supervillain for that but I can't imagine Aladdin will use a wish to turn into him. Oh and I understand arranged marriages but wasn't that wedding awful quick? Like in 30 seconds quick.

I learned that the best decision that was made for this movie was actually getting people with Broadway experience in the cast.

CJones

I learned Aladdin's last name is So-and-so. I honestly thought they were joking the first time they mentioned that. But nope, they're actually sticking with that.

I learned that it's a very very very, very very lovely morning in China.
I also learned that it's a very very very, very very lovely evening in China.
I learned that I can watch a Ducktales interpretation of Aladdin that makes more sense than this.  Anthropomorphic water fowl, or a Middle Eastern story set in China with no Asian people in it.  Which makes more sense?  You be the judge.
I learned that it's a very very very, very very lovely morning in China.
I learned what happens when you try to write a musical, but wait until the day before shooting starts to write the songs.
I learned that if your simpering idiot of a mother gives away your magical genie, it's okay because your sex robot dancing puppet has a spare.
I learned that it's a very very very, very very lovely evening in China.
I'm not particularly religious, and I don't really like Muppets, but I do love word play.

All the songs were obviously made up at the last minute.  Why not do the same with the names.

Lycan Colony logic. Male actor named Russ not show up for work? Stick a female extra with the role and keep calling her Russ. Script says look through a keyhole and there's no keyhole in the door you're using? Just peer at the knob as though you can see through it. There's no reason you can't just wing everything while you're shooting it.

I learned to appreciate Overdrawn at the Memory Bank a lot more because of this. Raul kept it from becoming this version of Aladdin.

Don't expect that too often. I saw the right Facebook post at the right time. They hadn't even updated the front page yet when I posted that.

I learned that Robin Williams gave a very subdued and dignified performance for Genie.

Speaking of which, now that they've done Suburban Sasquatch, Lycan Colony is next up on my wish list.

The Lurker

I general find out through Twitter. Either through the writers or Bill first.

Darth Geek

This movie is more whitewashed than a production of Roots by the Swedish Bikini Team.
