Five Doctors?

Hello. I was just rewatching Samurai Cop live (for probably the 10th time (not an exaggeration, understatement if anything)) when they got to the part previewing the upcoming live events for the year, I made a mental note like I have on each viewing, to figure out what the story is on why The Five Doctors show hasn't been made available, and if it ever will. You'd think being a long winded gasbag wouldn't necessarily translate into the written word, but you'd be wrong and as evidence I offer the prior sentence, as well as this one.

Anyway this time I am actually following through on said mental note. Why isn't it available and will it ever be?

They couldn't get the rights to release a VOD, but there's been talk of doing an MP3 Just the Jokes release at some point.

I wouldn't be surprised if it became a Kickstarter stretch goal. Its been about five years since RiffTrax released a Just the Jokes that wasn't tied to a Kickstarter.

Rifftrax likes to release something new every week and, with 3 live shows to do in five months upcoming, I think we'll see it to fill one of those weeks. They'll be busy.
And hopefully plenty of Bridget and Mary Jo VOD's and shorts!

I did assume that if they did release it, it would be one of the "just the jokes" versions, I don't mind those though. I know they aren't as popular because of the extra hassle (personally I don't find it all that much if a problem) but a lot of my favorites are the mocking of bigger budget films.

Anyway is good to know it will likely find the light of day at some point. My health prevents me from getting out much so I don't often see the live shows when they happen live, and the idea that there are any movies out there they have riffed without me seeing them disturbs me greatly.

Unfortunately we're still working on making this happen, as there seems to be a contractual reason that we can't even release an MP3. That's highly unusual for us, but I think some of it is to do with the fact that we're also trying to make a rebroadcast happen in theaters. But I'm not sure on what else might be going on that's preventing us from actually making it happen. You know that as soon as we can, we will!
