Iron Curtain

I noticed that in Season 11, there are riffs that reference certain locations that are no longer confined to the upper Midwest of the US. For instance, In Time Travelers, there was a riff that referenced Mount Airy Lodge, which anyone who watched TV in the tri-state area of NYC would recognize. Same goes for the riff in Carnival Magic which referenced Empire Carpet Cleaners. Empire also makes commercials in the NYC area. I'd hazard to guess that the NYC-centric riffs are due to head writer Eliot Kalan, who lived there while working on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I'd also say that the Minnesota-centric riffs are due to Paul Chaplin returning from the classic series. However, this is only speculation.

I noticed in Yongary they referenced the Schuylkill, which is a major roadway in Philadelphia.

I would guess Paul Sabourin wrote that riff, since he's from Philly.

That's even more accurate.
