1108 - The Loves of Hercules - Spoiler Thread

[Edward J Grug III]

[Iron Curtain]

I found the riffs in this episode significantly funnier than in the previous episode. And I didn't laugh at the Steve Reeves Hercules episodes in the classic MST3K series!

[ihavemyreasons]

Wasn't expecting it after reading his comments about the revival, but I was desperately hoping for a Mike as Steve Reeves cameo. Typical Hercules movie but a cameo by someone else at Moon 13 as a character from the movie would have been a nice throwback. No movie characters other than a few segments with Jonah and the bots referencing stuff from the movies in any episodes.

[Iron Curtain]

I still think the riffing is so good in this movie. Especially the "Speak!" "Arf!" refrain. It's another "Chief? McCloud?" AFAIAC...

[Iron Curtain]

Though I have yet to watch the whole episode, I can safely put this episode in the #6 slot of my all-time favorite MST3K episodes!

For those wondering, my top 5 would be
5. Invasion of the Neptune Men
4. Pod People
3. San Francisco International
2. Santa Claus
1. The Final Sacrifice

[Edward J Grug III]

Hercules movies are my MST3K kryptonite. This is probably my least favourite of the season so far, though I still enjoyed it. Loved the host segment where Jonah was being pelted with things.

The pen is mightier than the fjord!

[Johnny Unusual]

I actually enjoyed this most out of all the Herc movies.  Not sure what it is, but this episode really worked for me.

When the episode names leaked on IMDB it was just listed as "Hercules" I was hoping it was this one:

Spoiler

There needs to be more Golan/Globus Cannon Films riffs in the world!

[Darth Geek]

Am I the only one that thought the guy who dubbed Hercules' voice sounded a LOT like Tommy Wiseau?

for the crime of not wanting cold spaghetti thrown at you!

Way to break up the murder party jerk.

Thank goodness no one was filming this!

Dignity ladies!

911 is a joke, Flava Flavius was right!

Finally all the uninteresting characters in one place.

I'm not good at detests!

One of the better Tom flying bits.

I enjoyed this return to the sword and sandals genre. One of the funnier episodes.

It took me to this episode to notice that the intro is custom to each film

I was wondering about that since they mentioned that he has to reenact it every episode.

[MartyS (Gromit)]

This one made me laugh more than the last few.

Pretty good host segments, I loved the ending.

I think he was referring to the Robot Roll Call sequence where they show clips from the movie that is on that episode.
