This brings up an interesting idea: People, if you had the ability to make a Hulk movie any way you wanted, how would you do it?

There would be 5 minutes of Bruce Banner, then for the rest of the movie he would be fighting Abomination, Juggernaut(done right), and the military, while generally tearing things apart. Than the final scene would show spiderman dancing, Hulk would show up and knock him to the moon.

Hard to judge an entire movie on a 2 minutes clip however, Ed Norton, Tim Roth and William Hurt?    That is good enough for me.    I will watch it.

Didn't "get" the trailer, well here you go
QuoteThe official trailer for the upcoming "Incredible Hulk" film appeared online yesterday and fans can't seem to agree on whether it is better than the 2003 Ang Lee version. Furthermore, fans want answers: Who is the man Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) talking to in the beginning? Why does The Abomination look like that?

Well... all your questions are touched on by director Louis Leterrier, who reveals that we get to see the Hulk three minutes into the movie and the final scene, where the Hulk fights The Abomination, is 26 minutes long. Click below for more.

In addition, "The Incredible Hulk" has updated its official website, where you can see the trailer, download wallpaper and check out an image gallery. The new movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 13th.

Wow, a 26 minute CG fight scene with dumb looking monsters. Sign me up for that.

I suppose that's the problem with a lot of comics. They just don't stand up to being made into live-action movies, CG or no. But they'll keep cranking them out, apparently.

I'm not sure if this is what you were asking, but tell me what you think of the idea regardless.

First let me say I liked the Ang Lee Hulk, but it really dragged in spots. Mostly the scenes where Bruce was reflecting inward, "finding himself", you know? That seems to be a similar problem with this new trailer. The build up and explanation of who Bruce is overwhelms the "Hulk Smash!" that fans seem to be asking for.

If I was making a Hulk movie, I'd drop the audience into a world where the Hulk was already running around doing Hulk things, breaking sh*t, massive property damage, hunted by the military, and unstoppable until he calmed down and wore himself out.  There would be origin explanations over the opening credits ala Spider-Man 2, but the movie would be about finding the Bruce Banner inside the Hulk, not about him becoming the Hulk.  As he is hunted and periodically out of control (like the TV series "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" Hulk), he still tries to find a way to cure himself with the covert help of beautiful and intelligent research scientist, Betty Banner.

Problems arise with the military when they try to clone a more domesticated version of Hulk, creating the major villian of the film, the Grey Hulk. He's even stronger than the green Hulk, but controllable, with the capacity to learn and obey simple commands like "Go here, kill everyone" or what have you. But the Clone continues to mutate, becoming capable of making decisions on his own with an "I Smash , therefore I am." mentality, and he busts loose of his confinement, eager to experience (and maybe destroy) the world outside. Hulk winds up being sent after him, and the big battles and big cgi bits happen, and in fighting a once tame, now wild version of himself, he comes to understand the man within.

so heres a question, would the incredible hulk TV show idea, make for a better movie than the comic book?

They're already ripping off the TV show in this movie. No, they couldn't have him go from town to town. That's a TV formula to break the concept up into one-hour segments. It would be pointless in a movie. And beyond that, what is there? Is he going to spend two hours being beat up in bars, get angry and turn into the Hulk? Or should Michael Bay make his car explode while he's changing a tire?

I'm gonna take a bold step and say that the Hulk was actually really good, it just wasn't what anyone really wanted. :^)

Posting to show my support of Ang Lee's Hulk.

While I loved it as a kid, the TV show had too much camp value to make for a good movie. It would be like trying to make a blockbuster based on the old Batman TV show.
