The Totally Restrained Gods of Egypt Trailer Raises Just a Few Questions

I'm reminded a bit of Tarsem's Immortals, which was mostly pretty bad but kinda worth seeing just for the visuals and production design. I think when a movie's trailer says that it's from a "visionary" director, it's code for something like that.

Oh, this looks gloriously stupid:

I'm not too optimistic from that trailer.  This really does look gloriously stupid.  It seems a little "300: with some "Dragon Wars" thrown in.  And too many people on YouTube are complaining about the cast being too white.  Yeah, whatever.  ::)

I think I'll wait for a riff group to make it watchable.   ;D

I'm looking forward to this. Glad they're exploring other religions for big dumb Hollywood action movies.

That's exactly why I'm interested in this movie.

It looks like it's taken the best parts of both of those movies, and gotten rid of the worst parts of them.

I thought this came and flopped already.

QuoteGods of Egypt is Clash of the Titans for ADD kids that spent the whole time in Mythology class playing Warcraft on their iPhones

This movie just sounds fascinatingly stupid.

I'm not watching that until I see the movie because they always spoil things and I want to be surprised by how stupid it is when I see it.  I did watch Chris Stuckman's review though, and I'm excited to see this.  He gave it an F but clearly loved it for how entertainingly bad it was.

I didn't know Proyas directed this.  Hmmm...

I, too, am in the "I want to see this because it looks delightfully stupid" camp, but I want to wait until home video so I don't have to worry about smuggling in snacks and annoying other moviegoers by laughing in all the wrong places (at least, wrong by the movie's standards).  It just looks so over the top goofy, yet visually impressive enough to be the right sort of dumb fun that I've been waiting awhile for, that I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it.  From the sounds of its opening weekend, though, it'll probably come to Netflix earlier than expected...
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

Yeah, me too. I'm curious, but not enough to pay theater price.
