My favorite part of the film experience:

A couple guys behind me broke out in triumphant clapping at that part.

I did the same with the "next time" line from Rhodes :)

Guys, I must implore you to see this movie as many times as you can during its theatrical run. I'll be taking a nephew to go see it in a few minutes. The reason why I ask this is because I want it to be a huge success so that Terrence Howard can realize his dream and don the War Machine armor.  ;D
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

Wow. What a movie. It was great. It is fresh and different all the while being totally faithful to the characters from the comics.

Also the bonus scene after the credits is the best bonus scene EVER.
Not only for who is in the scene but for WHAT he says......which if you listened carefully was a lot.

I have a feeling Marvel Studios is just getting started and in a few years we might see something really awesome and epic.

My thinking exactly  :)

Such a wicked movie, and on a day when I'd seen the Hulk trailer too, but seeing Iron Man cheered me up no end.

Quote"Iron Man" did so well during its box office debut that it joined the list of all-time highest openers, grossing over $104 million domestically and $97 million internationally for a worldwide total of $201 million in its first five days.

The film biz couldn't have asked for a better start to the summer season, with "Iron Man" mirroring the birth of the "Spider-Man" franchise. Domestically, the Robert Downey Jr. topliner grossed $100.7 million for the weekend and another $3.5 million from select Thursday night shows.

That gives "Iron Man," directed by Jon Favreau, the 8th best opening weekend ever, and the second-best debut for a non-sequel after "Spider-Man," which opened to $114.8 million on the same weekend in 2002.

It's also the best opening in history for a Paramount live-action release. DreamWorks Animations toon "Shrek the Third" is the only Paramount film to have opened higher when debuting at $121.6 million last summer.

"Iron Man" is a sizeable victory for Marvel Studios. It's the first title fully produced and financed under Marvel Studio's new business plan.

There was some question as to whether "Iron Man" could lure women. Film's gross revealed it succeeded, although it still skewed heavily male. Of the audience, 57% were over the age of 25.

I love how they're already giving us "opening weekend" numbers. THE WEEKEND'S NOT OVER YET!

Anyways just saw it. It was awesome, as expected.

(Some logic flaws inherent in all sci-fi / superhero movies, but what can ya do?)

I like how  Jon Favreau has become a bankable director.   To me he will always be "so money and he doesnt even know it".

Just saw Iron Man and LOVED IT.  I am going to back and see it again this week on my other day off.  I thought Robert Downey Jr. had Stark down pat and I am sincerely hoping that Terrence Howard gets to come back as War Machine.  I could've lived without Gwen Paltroy but alas you can't have everything...
I am not above projectile vomiting to get my way

Saw that movie on a bootleg website already, like I'm going to give my money to another Marvel project.  But I will give it to some unsavory bootleggers from the south pacific.  That's how bad the movie was.

I suppose your idea of a good movie is "Meet the Spartans" then.  You're clearly a fucking idiot.

The movie was pretty god damn good.  I just wish the final battle was a bit longer, but, other than that no complaints from me.  This movie pretty much had it all, and it all worked.  Loved the allusion to War Machine as well and Terrence Howard is a fine choice for that just as RDJ was for Tony Stark.  I wasn't aware of the special ending after the credits so I didn't stick around.  Anybody that did see it, let me know what happened with a spoiler link or something because I really want to know what it's all about.
A spell was cast and the sky turned red.  The Angel's heart froze to ice.  Roses of blood from an innocent soul.  On the plain lies an Angel dead.

"Another" Marvel project? This was the first one that was financed by Marvel (just distributed by Paramount)... and so far it's one of the best comic adaptations ever, besides just being a solid, fun movie.

Thorns, what happened was...
Spoiler

Stark shows up at his place and in the dark there's a guy standing there. "'I am Iron man'" the mysterious figure says, 'do you think you're the only superhero in the world?" To which Stark replies, "Who are you?" Into the light steps Samuel L. Jackson with an eye patch. "Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. You've become part of something much bigger than you realize." Something to that effect. It was pretty cool, and SLJ looks a LOT like the Ultimate Avengers Fury.

EDIT: Here's a video, the other one got pulled.
