I learned that when you have a condition that precludes you from being able to go out into the sun -a condition many people in real-life have- you should go out into the sun as often as possible.

There may be some flaws in the day-for-night technique of film-making.

I learned that every human embryo goes through a fish phase and a reptile phase and an an amphibian phase and... wait WHAT!?

Miku Fan

I learned that "hideous" and "hilarious"  are interchangeable.

I learned that lounge singers stare off blankly into the distance when they sing and play the piano.

I found out that gangsters apparently have to shoot people outdoors where there'll be a higher chance of having plenty of witnesses.

I learned that a searing  office rooftop is a great substitute for manicured hospital grounds, if you are on a budget.

I also learned that one of the writers evidently saw The Quatermass Xperiment because the scene in the shack with the little girl is dangerously close to being lifted from that far superior dude-turns-into-a-monster movie.

I was actually wondering for a little while if she was supposed to be blind.

I learned that Ortega cleans up pretty well.

I learned that the eponymous Hideous Sun Demon doesn't get as much screen time as I first assumed.

With all the day-for-night going on that's pretty surprising.

I learned that an alcoholic imbecile with anger issues who beats the crap out of someone who bullies the woman that he's trying to get drunk and sexually assault on the beach can be the "hero" of a movie.  And all that's BEFORE he transforms into a monster,

I learned that transforming into a hideous sun demon from the waist up can be an improvement on your personality.

Not only that, but he does all this even after HE KNOWS he will turn into a sun monster!

"Avoid being in the sun," is hardly hard or impossible medical advice to follow. There exists millions of people who have a "sun allergy" that, oddly enough, present itself as skin rashes. For some people it can much more severe precluding them from being able to have *any* meaningful contact with sunlight and even some forms of artificial light.   Difficult, sure. But not impossible or greatly difficult, you make adjustments.  I mean, even if it's the first-day of summer -the day of the most sunlight- you can have 9 or 10 hours of nighttime. Plenty of time to run your errands, get some tail, get hammered, etc.  You'd have to *try* and to be caught outside when the sun is up.  (I'm assuming in the transitional periods he's not as vulnerable, giving him even more time.)

But, sure, Sun Demon. Go out and spend all night drinking in one bar, knocking boots with some comely pianist, make love to her on the beach for several hours and get stuck outside when the sun is high enough in the sky to be a problem.
