RiffTrax Live: Sharknado
Feature film · 2015

One of the most requested titles in RiffTrax history! Sharknado makes Jaws IV look like Jaws III, and Jaws III look like Jaws, and it was riffed live from the State Theater in Minneapolis!

With Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett

Finally, the acclaimed smash hit RiffTrax Live event of 2014 is now available to own! Considered by many critics to be one of the greatest movies ever made in the "Tornado full of sharks" genre, Sharknado debuted in 2013 to unprecedented buzz. Not since Snakes On A Plane had the internet been so excited about a movie, and not since the late 90s had anyone been so excited about anything starring Tara Reid.

From the moment it debuted, Sharknado was one of the most requested titles in RiffTrax history. It makes Jaws IV look like Jaws III, and Jaws III look like Jaws. Riffed LIVE from the State Theater in Minneapolis and broadcast to over 700 theaters across North America, this hilarious live event also features an all-new take on the Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan-favorite short A Case of Spring Fever starring Coily the Spring Sprite!

Look, why are you still reading this? It has chainsaws, helicopters dropping bombs, and the aforementioned TORNADO FULL OF SHARKS! Make this new classic a part of your RiffTrax Library today!

I wondered if they would do something with the pre-show this time.

what kind of vodo did you do to get VOD rights?

I thought the Sharknado people were really supportive of this riff?

I haven't rewatched it yet, so it's been a while. Did that clip even have a shark in it?!

Yeah, and a guy grabbing an oversized bat for some reason. I bet the guys were gladd they didn't have to riff it.

Didn't Rifftrax say at the time that there would be no VOD of that live show?  I think either you or another admin mentioned that here.

I'm loving that you guys did get the rights!!  Just can't afford it right now.   :'(

Question for those who might be in the know.

Why is the video letterboxed on all four sides? I downloaded the "high_TV" version and the picture is letter boxed on all four sides, making a rectangular "box" on my TV rather than filling up the TV.  I can fill the screen using the "ZOOM" feature on my TV but this causes a small degree of cropping issues on the sides and a bit of loss in picture quality.

Haven't had this problem on other "high_TV" files I've downloaded.

File is the SD version.

Sometimes when they do the encodes the aspect ratio gets messed up. I let the powers that be know. Once they find out about stuff like this they usually renencode and get the corrected ones up ASAP.  FYI the HD version is fine.
