Fantastic Four Reboot

The thing about the Fantastic Four is that they're a bit campy by default. They have villains like Galactus and Mole people and a guy named Dr. Doom who wears a mask and keeps an army of Doombots. I don't read their book, so I don't know how they're being handled in the modern era, but I've always seen them as being permanently stuck in the Silver Age. If you try to drop the Silver Age Campiness, you lose a lot of the charm. If you try to stick with it, you lose a lot of the audience.

It sounds like the studio is blaming the failure of the previous movies on them being campy, instead of being terribly written and generally mundane.  The FF really only work if they're silly, over the top, and dealing with fantastic situations and settings.  Grounding them in reality or once again 'reimagining' one of the best comic book villains ever is pretty much missing the point.  The Marvel Studios movies have shown that you can make silliness and humor work for the general public.

I like how just reading it in the quotes there makes it sound like Fox is the enemy. Which from all evidence, they really are the biggest threat to this property.

That's just dumb. The cast are the LAST ones I blame for how bad this reboot seems to be. And may not end up being anyway, we haven't even seen any footage. If they were going to do something like that, I'd rather see him lay waste to the Fox executives building.

I agree.  The actors do not deserve any wrath (not to mention they are all especially great at what they do).  The executives are the ones that Marvel's anger should be directed at.

But Marvel is angry about the rights to FF in movies, not about the quality of the upcoming movie.

Well "Marvel" doesn't write comics. Writers do. It could just be a little good-natured ribbing. Maybe the writer knows one or two of the cast members and thought they'd get a kick out of it. Maybe it's just one of those, "Haha. Look how bad we're being making fun of this thing that should be taboo in the world of comics" things.
