What did we learn from that guy from Florida?

I learned that bad guys with guns never can shoot anything and they attract all bullets shot by the good guys.

Also, did you just kill the bad guys or are they just injured?   Meh, just leave them in the field....who cares.

I learned that there is such a thing as rotary phone porn. So much dialing. So much waiting for the call to go through. So much repeating the number to the other caller... you just keep dialing, Al. Oh, yeah.

When I was in high school (a building which has since been torn down), two girls came into the main hall to use one of the pay phones. They were rotary phones, and one of them actually said to the other, something to the effect of "Wow, what will they think of next?" I think that was my very first facepalm.

What, were they having Thelma Lou patch them through before then? Answering the phone with a hearty Ahoy-hoy?
WARNING: In case of Rapture, this dance belt will be unoccupied.

I have learned that in blacksploitation action movies, it's perfectly okay for the "action hero/ladies man" to have even less of a impressive phisique with his short off than Charles Pierce's son in Boggy Creek 2.

I learned that in gyms they have special saunas where you can were your glassses and they won't get fogged up. Either that or that guy had no idea how a sauna operates.

I learned that a hideous overabundance of orange will make an apartment a safe-house.

Apparently small breasted Jessica Simpson has a whole collection of frumpy nightgowns.

That ending scene of That Guy From Harlem hand to hand fighting against Big Daddy looked like Eddie Deezen fistfighting Vin Diesel.

I learned that when the FBI comes up to you in order to enlist your help in the security of an African Queen because they've had some espionage issues the best thing to do is to have a hotel room secured in your legal name. The name on your office door. The office these FBI agents came to visit you in.  These same agents who've expressed security issues in their office.

This reminds me of a great riff from the Quiptracks of Abduction. Taylor Lautner is using a regular wall mounted pay phone - "This phone has, like, no apps."

I learned that the only people who actually die in Guy From Harlem were those KILLED by the Guy From Harlem, except for Jim, who was gunned down by Larry for some reason. Al was knocking guys off left and right in the second and third acts.

I learned that it is possible to give a detailed description of the physical appearance of a person you've never seen.

I also learned why it is important to hire a professional fight choreographer when filming a movie with fight scenes.  I never really understood that until I saw how terrible the fight scenes in this movie were.  No riffing required; I was seriously laughing so hard at those that I was gasping for air.

That "we're wearing the same color" is probably not a good pick up line.

Hell, in the 70's "I like turtles" would have been enough of a pickup line to get you a threesome.
