Thrifty Version II

I'm not particularly thrilled.  I don't like zombies or black and white films, so that's 2 strikes already.  Looking at the cost is a third strike.  So I'll probably give this one a pass.

I think we'll probably be close to starting from scratch on this one. But we haven't had much of a chance to talk about it yet.

If it's from a from-scratch (by and large) riff I'm even more excited.  Part of wishes it was the colorized version but I agree the B&W keeps the tone of the movie better.   This riff should be a lot of fun to watch, heck it would be even if it was a re-tread of the previous version.  NOTLD!

I would assume that much of the material will be updated from the 3 riffer and solo editions and may include references to previous riffs.  I can't help but think of Birdemic during the opening car driving sequence.  I hope I can go to this one as I love the live shows but won't know till closer to the show.  My theater was sold out for Starship Troopers.  I hope we can get some more Kickstarter films and that the few complaints don't scare the crew away from doing it again next year.

They might have new riff lives by next year I would assume

Considering how successful they've been, I wouldn't be shocked if there's an uptick in the schedule. Maybe a Christmas show, perhaps one in the spring.

Yeah, I like the black and white version, too. Legend Films has done an excellent job colorizing some movies, which is especially refreshing given that colorization has a pretty notorious track record. But I didn't like what they did with Night of the Living Dead so much. I heard they MEANT to make the coloring kinda loud and brash, but there is an atom's width line between intentionally bad and just plain bad. To me, it just made it look more like the really shitty kinds of colorizing that have been used in the past.

As for the live show: I can't wait. I already have both Mike's solo riff and the one where he's got Kevin and Bill with him. Even if they changed NONE of the jokes, I'd be willing the plunk down the 11.50 for a ticket just to see it on the big screen with other fans. The fact that they're adding so much new content is just gravy ^_^. Rich, delicious, possibly bacon-flavored gravy.

DUDE! Bacon-flavored gravy? Is that even a thing? It should be a thing!
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

I love it.  I'm gonna fund your idea...for 11 million dollars.

Yeah, right after I made that post, I looked it up. The closest thing I could find was country gravy-- like the kind you'd put over biscuits or a chicken-fried steak-- but with crumbled bacon added. Which sounds good, but that's not what I had in mind. Man, chicken-fried steak. . . I haven't had one of those in forever. Well, I know what I'm having for dinner TONIGHT!

If it's all new fresh material then hellz yeah im all for it. It is kinda bleh to riff the same movie, 3 times but aslong as its all new exclusive material to the live show then bring it on! I even like the single mike ones, where he's not so much riffing as he is providing informational backgrond info on the movies - which I found a bit odd (retroactively - as I didnt see them til after the three riffer versions), reminded me more of KTMA when joel would just drop knowledge on peeps about the movie whilst also cracking jokes. LOL esp the just mike Carnival of Souls - that one is full of random factoids.

I mean it is the Quintessential Zombie movie of all time; and - not that I really care but does that mean you only watched not even half of MST3K? I mean ALOT of the movies were in black and white (doesn't bother me a bit - love both color and black and white. hell Id like to see a riff of a silent film, just imagine what they could do with all the space - dubbing in voices, etc. haha

And cost? I mean...are the tickets gonna be any less than they are usually - a Rifftrax Live show never breaks my budget, and believe me its not big at all, at all.

Carnival of Souls was colorized well but I've gotta agree - NOTLD - the white people look like Manikin's - the colors we're funky. I bought the OG non riff colorized version of NOTLD just because I wanted to see how far colorization has come since Ted Turner lol. Reefer Madnesss imo is 10x better colorized love the color of the pot smoke hahaaa.

I'm all for kickstarter - would gladly donate again for an awesome movie, aslong as the hold up their end of the bargain! No signed poster, or name at the end of the credits really bummed me out, and missing the planning session with no VOD option :'(. Not saying these things can't be rectified; quite the opposite - I dont mind waiting if the goodies actually come at SOME point lol. Atleast I can rest assured that the I got the exclusive VODs. Is the norman one even exclusive? I havent watched it yet but it seems like it may be one they riffed before at a live show. Could be wrong though

The Kickstarter did go WAY over their goal - so I wouldn't be surprised either.
