So, I showed my girlfriend the Hanging Out With My Family part of Birdemic, and she sat here perplexed, just as the guys did.  If he's hanging out with his family, why is Uncle Phil scoring?  So she sent an email to the singer, Damien Carter, asking, basically "Is Uncle Phil scoring in some kind of a game? Or is it with the ladies?" trying to not sound like she was making fun of the guy.  He responded less than 10 minutes later with this:

"Well,  this is an annual community gathering.   They are all playing games and the guys are hitting on the ladies; just hanging out.  So, I will say both.   LOL.  I will send the lyrics in a few.  Hope that help's.    Damien "

I'll post his lyrics here, too, in a subsequent post.  Comments?

That seems like the most logical comment.

The next one: EXCELLENT!  Can't wait to see the lyrics.

I think he means that the "hangin out with the family" doesn't necessarily mean (to the song) blood relative... but sort of like a gathering of friends and family from the neighbourhood....  So Uncle Phil could be scoring with the ladies that are not related to him, while also scoring in the games that are being played at the gathering.

I just want to know what the song has to do with Eddie Murphy and the Fresh Prince.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Ok, here are the lyrics (For space reasons, chorus just means the "Hanging out with my family" part twice, but Damien did write out every single one):

Chorus

A cool summer breeze, making me feel at ease
The barbeque is broilin' and Uncle Phil is scorin'
Big Momma's in the kitchen and everybody wishin'
That she's fixin' they favorite dish

Chorus x2

Young ladies are doin' their makeup and the brothers can't wait to hookup
Jill Scott's on the radio and I hear somebody say HELLO!
Then Thelma starts to dancin' and Grandma starts to prancin'
To make sure that the fellas, don't try any glancin'

Chorus

Charles walks in with the beer and his baby says HEY DEAR!
Can you go and talk to Melvin, he's making out at the pier (WHAT!)
So little Susan hears the music then she starts to groovin'
And all the fellas jump up to see, how she is movin'

Chorus x2

(Ad-Lib)

Uh...still REALLY sounds like an actual family reunion, in a very perverted family.

TheUnabeefer

Yeah  but have you SEEN his cousins?! Hawt!!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Whatever.  Jane Austen said it was okay to bone your cousins, so it's okay by me.  :)

When Grandma takes her eyes off little Susan

We all get set to Crusin' cause she sure is movin'

Just hanging out

Hanging out with the family

Having ourselves a ball

(hey, I didn't write this song)

I will say that I think it's a.... "good" song and he performed it very well. He's certainly a capable entertainer.
