Doesn't matter much to me if he's called Khan or not. When I first saw the trailer, my first words were "That's got to be Khan." However, the name doesn't matter. It's someone so powerful and talented that he's a real threat to the Enterprise crew and maybe Starfleet, just like Khan. It'd be nice if it's just because he's super smart, rather than he's got some uber-weapon like every other movie.

I never really felt that Kahn acted all that smart. Thinking in 2D in space, not getting the point of Moby Dick (or maybe just not reading till the end). He was a good villain,  and the movie was all right. But Kahn was no genius military strategist.

"Intellegent, but not experienced." I think went a long way to describing Khan.  His strategy during the movie I think could be attributed to his highly trained superior intellect only having been applied on ground based warfare in his past.  Anyone with that mentality would find it difficult to adjust to a 3 dimensional battle against someone as experienced as Kirk.

As for not getting the point of Moby Dick...I'm not sure he did.  I think he just accepted himself for what he was in his final moments.

I thought the point was Herman Melville just wanted to see if he could get a filthy title past the censors.

The point of Moby Dick is "be yourself."

So, it looks like the new Star Trek movie has a title.  I think that's more than enough reason to start a thread on it.

So, any theories or wishes on what it would be about?  Think it'll be a reimagining of a previous adventure or some new stuff that's hopefully not time-travelling miners.  Cause I loved Star Trek, but the villains were time travelling miners.  Personally, I'd like them to do an epic film version of "The Changeling".  That way they get to tackle the space god formula without it being just a "space god" (Sorry Squire of Gothos, Charlie X, Who Mourns for Adonis and basically the 90% of the original series) and they could have him capable of all sorts of terrible new things.

And by the way, I will change the thread title if this title changes.  None of that Del Toro directing the Hobbit stuff.

Okay, this is awesome:

Yeah.  I saw that earlier and loved it.  The game itself looks like dog lunch though.

Sulu: Depth at 45 hundred feet, 48 hundred, 50 hundred! 5000 feet!
Scotty: Dear Lord, that's over 150 atmospheres of pressure.
Chekov: How many atmospheres can this ship withstand?
Scotty: Well it's a spaceship, so I'd say anywhere between zero and one.
