Where to watch live Olympic coverage online:

(this here is likely to be a european server torrent of NBC coverage so the presumption is you are a paid customer of NBC namely if you get sent for you can produce documentation showing you get MSNBC and/or CNBC on cable.  you dig?)

I just spent all day watching as many of the soccer prelims as I could. It was awesome.
I survived the San Diego Comic Con 2010 Hall H stabbing.

And let's get the Olympics started with our official mascots, Nightmare and Terror!

BTW: London? When your mascots look like they were created in Spore, you might want to head back to the drawing board.

It would be easier if they held the games in the middle of nowhere.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

None of them can hold a candle to Fatov.

Izzy could take 'em both on! I bet they won't even get their own video game!

Well, thanks to Epyx and their 8-bit Summer Games 1 & 2 stuck in my head, I'm always slightly disappointed in the events I end up seeing on TV.  Sure, the stuff that's on there is fun to watch, but where's the skeet shooting?  The white-water rafting?  The equestrian events that I have no idea why or how they score things?

Though I am shocked to see synchronized diving right now.  Is this really a thing?

And...it's over.

Guess it wasn't worth commenting on, then.   ;)

I thought it was a great Olympics. And I didn't spend a second watching it on NBC. I was able to find some streams of BBC's coverage. I always kinda knew NBC's coverage was awful, but I had to see it COMPETENTLY broadcast to fully understand.

It was great, they actually showed the events in their entirety instead of just the American's performances, no damn tape-delay, almost no commercials, good commentators who knew their sports and only spoke up when there was something worth saying, and no damn saccharine fluff pieces with the occasional sporting event thrown in.

I will be doing this for every Olympics from now on. If NBC wants me back, they have to go the extra mile and not suck. Did I say "extra" mile? I meant to say "initial" mile.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

I thought about finding some BBC streaming but most of the live stuff was on when I was at work, and also I've had issues with my PC getting viruses when doing that.  So I was stuck watching it in the evening, had to work at not finding out who won the few events I really wanted to watch.

Some of the fluff reports were OK, the ones about the guy with the prosthetic feet and the Masai runner.  I don't think any of the ones about the US athletes were very good, or necessary for that matter.

Major groans every time the phrase "Brian Seacrest is here" was said.  His "social media" reports had to be the worst parts of the whole thing.  So sad, it was like TV begging to go back to the only form of nightly entertainment.

And Revolution might be a good show but after seeing the same ad for it 1000 times I'm sick of it already, so if it gets on Netflix in a year or 2 maybe I'll watch it then.

I don't remember the commentators being so annoying in previous years, I certainly don't remember thinking "shut up, I can see what they are doing" so much in the past.

All the goofy NBC things seemed to be added towards stupid people who like special talks, Ryan crap and other waste of time.   That is why I watched almost nothing but "soccer".
